OOC: Look's like we are doing a frontal assault. Um, anyone want to do a St. Crispin's Day speech while we wait for the Elemental? Doc will provide covering fire when the breach is open.

Gimlak takes the time to invoke the power within, though his dwarven throat singing, giving all the extra vigor to those listening.

OOC: use of inspiring leader. So the feat says you can’t benefit from it again unless you’ve had a short or long rest. Can’t remember if we did. If yes, all the companions get +14 hp , and the rest goes to soldiers, one being Caine.If not, he’ll give the benefit to 6 soldiers, one of them Caine.

OOC: Under the scenario above, is the banging on the front door turning into a ruse for the tunneling? Timing forcing doors all at once could get tricky. Edit to add - the final bursting through would also be tricky. Elemental takes 10 minutes to clear a 10ft cube. Don't want to take THAT long, so it'll have to break through the last bit suddenly.

OOC: I think banging at the door is meant as a lure to ensure that there are some people (some STRONG people) at that particular location when the tunnel comes through. If they are reinforcing the door with even some of their folk, then the sudden appearance of team A from the floor both pins them and gives team A some likely clustered initial targets. At that point, it doesn't matter if the doors get opened -- the Doorknockers can come through the floor, assuming, or wait for the doors to open, and there's uncertainty. That's what I take from what's been said.

OOC: not to belabour things but why not use the elemental to create a hole that makes all the crates drop into it and then hit the door hard from outside? Granted, there will be a big hole with refuse in it to try to navigate over...

OOC: Okay. Full frontal assault with the troops. Colonel and Gimlak with main force? Taran, Kahru (strength) and Doc will hit the NW door at same time. Kahru forces door open? Then Taran and Kahru enter and I'm firing at HG Shlub and Mudsmuck in support right behind you? Yes? No? Maybe?

My original idea was to beat on the back doors to pull people away from the middle of the room and the main doors. It wasn't to actually get through, just draw enemies away from main force. But now I don't know what's going on, lol.

OOC: My answer, not actually ever having led an elemental-assisted assault, is that I don't want anything to depend upon split-second timing. If during the Elemental's 2-3 minutes before bursting through, the banging starts, then there's time for a response from within (for them to sense the threat, make a selection about reinforcing the doors, and act), and for that to continue until the elemental opens up the hole and people can stream out. Nothing depends on things happening within a precise six-second period, and we can act when the hole opens up, with anyone who wants as part of the initial assault. I know we have "eyes" in the room; even still, I think depending on either the door coming down or a hole opening up at a precise moment is asking for snarls that don't need to be part of the plan. Speak up -- we may have ten minutes as the elemental begins to dig a tunnel, which I think is happening anyways. Also looking for volunteers to be on the strike force...

OOC: @Kobold Stew Doc is deferring to Hoss as well. Do you want the full frontal (ahem), or the two front? If two front, I recommended the teams above. If full frontal only, I will be part of strike team, but slightly behind because of range.

OOC: Just to be clear - Kahru is in the hall, in the shape of a hawk, about to be spotted (maybe). The Elemental takes 10 minutes per 10-foot cube so it's going to take half-an hour just to get reasonably past the crates blcoking the door.If you want to go all the way to AH64-65, it'll be closer to an hour.

OOC: I think we want Team Ankheg to pup up at least at 68-69, so we could save 20 minutes and the Elemental would still not be in its final seconds. We don't need to go as far as 64-65, but I think getting at least past the open doors of the storerooms makes sense. Banging hard on the doors, threatening to bust them open should have a solid number of people in that line at 72-73. Or so I hope.
