D&D 5E [IC] Against the Slavelords

Tirion Cayde, Cleric Level 5 (Life)

Elredd/Devil’s Den
Day 1/Night

Letting Brak take the body, Tirion led the way out to the alley. He pulled out his amulet to give them a bit of light and they picked their way to the main street. Tucking the amulet away again, they walked to where the half-orc stood watching their horse.

“Brak, stay here and rest. I will get the others,” Tirion told the big barbarian.

Making his way back into the Devil’s Pit, Tirion looked around for the other members of his party. He spotted Kelvyn and made his way through the crowd to the man, touching him on the shoulder.

“We should go. I have Brak outside waiting. Where are the others?” he asked, not seeing Levanna, Evandur, or Alegast.

Tirion and Brak make it to the half-orc and horse without problems. They also find the ranger there, who comments that he needed some fresh air from all the bloodlust. Heading inside the priest see Kelvyn talking with the same merchant that he had spoken with earlier. He can tell the squire is not comfortable with the man but is making an attempt.

Evendur, Levanna and Alegast start making their ways back to the Devil's Den that is only a few blocks away and Evendur notices that the man is still following...

[OCC - I will wait for Scotley to comment, Cathmore seems to have disappeared to I am robo him at least for now

For the other group depends if you want to lead the man back to the Devil's Den or you want to lead him elsewhere/occ]

As Kelvyn waits for Brak too leave the fight pit, a richly dressed merchant whom was standing nearby slaps him on his back saying "Your man there is an excellent fighter. I do not mind telling you that I am happy to have lost on this bet as Braggi Bloodboar was a crazy blight on this town."

"So," he continues "What brings you to our small village and fight pit?"

Kelvyn notices that the man has four or five bodyguard types standing nearby eyeing him suspiciously.

Kelvyn puts of a broad smile. "He is an excellent fellow. I shall pass along your praise. Confidentially, he came here to broaden his fame as a fighter. This little pit has quite a reputation in certain circles. I expect you'll get a chance to make your coin back on future bouts. I would not speak ill of the dead, but I will say that having Brak as a local champ will only be good for the community."

The merchant nods sagely to Kelvyn, adding "Well if your friend is looking for a local sponsor, I would be happy to put my name forward..."

About then Tirion appears inquiring about the others. The merchants smiles and says "Ah the warrior-priest, carer oh the dead..."

[section]"I guess is a good idea to go and see what happened to the others", the elf answers to Levanna. He wonders if Brak had won, and began to regret not seen that fight.

"Someone is following us?" he asked when Evendur warned them. "I believe isn't a good idea that he follow us to Devil's Den. We have to either mislead him or to deal with with him", suggested Alegast.[/section]

Evendur Buckman Rogue Level 1 (warlock 4)

[section]

‘You are correct,’ Evendur thinks to his friends. ‘He must be dealt with.’

Waiting till the three companions move around the corner and visual lock is broken from the pursuer, Evendur once again uses his patron’s gift for confusion and misdirection to change his appearance to that of a human beggar.

‘Wait here, if this doesn’t work. We need to get rid of him quickly,’ he pulses to his friends and starts to stagger back the way he came, acting drunk and pretending to be roaringly drunk.

He keeps up the act until the tracker passes him and then with a command tries to exert dominance over the man’s will.

Tirion Cayde, Cleric Level 5 (Life)

Elredd/Devil’s Den
Day 1/Night

When the merchant greets Tirion, the big cleric returns it with a slight bow. “My lord von Silverson,” he said politely. “I am afraid we find it might be best to cut this evening short,” he admitted. “I must see to the wounds of my fighting friend and we should retire for the evening so we can get an early start in the morning,” he told Kelvyn. “My apologies, but perhaps we will meet again,” he told Marcus.

Looking around the room, Tirion tried to find the others. He cursed himself for letting Levanna alone in an unruly crowd.

[OCC - see OCC post for saves and other rolls

After Evendur leaves his friends just around the corner, his face changes just before the their shadow appears around the corner. Casting a quick spell he notices the man look startled for a second and then he growls "Bastard!" and draws a short sword from behind his back...

[OCC - I will let Evendur have initiative on the man as you did take him by surprised and he may not know who you are exactly but he knows you tried to do something hostile towards him. He is not surprised but you still act first. Then him then Levanna and Alegast can act

At the Devil's Den the merchant, von Silverson, just smiles and nods "Of course, of course. But if on the morn if your friend would like to speak with me, my home is near the fort. Simply ask one of the guards and they will point it out to you..."

Outside, Kelvyn can mention to Tirion that the other three companions went off with the red clad monk. He did not hear where they were going...

The merchant nods sagely to Kelvyn, adding "Well if your friend is looking for a local sponsor, I would be happy to put my name forward..."

Kelvyn winks, "I have some influence with the gentleman. If you'll give me your name I might be persuaded to suggest that you would be the best choice of sponsor..."
