(IC - D&D 3.5) Rathan's Problem Down Under

"Ultimately it all leads to death, whether they eat me alive, drink my blood til I have none left, or just take away my essence with a touch," Anton pauses, curious how to relate this to the elemental. "Some can turn me into what they are, which many men consider a fate worse than death. Mostly though, Menhir, and this is just my opinion, what's dead should stay dead, unless through divine intervention life is regifted. But that's not the case with these living dead. I hope that helps a bit."

Anton frowns a little bit and looks down at the ground, gathering his thoughts for a moment, "To be perfectly honest I've never encountered one before, my experience only being what I've been taught. So I don't know if I can answer that." He blushes a bit at this confession, but immediately his face perks up, "Oh, but I do know that some of them have thoughts like the living, while others are mindless. That has to mean something."

The earth elemental considers its single run-in with an undead being along with what it's been told about their kind from its companions. Unable to form an informed opinion on the matter with so little information, Menhir decides to let the matter rest for the moment with a simple nod of its blocky head. The elemental sinks slowly back down into the earth till only its featureless face remains above ground while it waits to see how its companions intend to proceed.

As Lidia has nothing to add to the conversion on undead, she keeps quite until its apparently over. She then interjects "So. Do we go check the mound now, or wait until morning. Both options have there pros and cons, so I am easy either way."

Very well. Do try to be quiet once we get closer.

Berrek leads the team back toward the massacre, stopping shortly once they come within 100' to cast Barkskin Lidia offered so gratiously.
"Does anyone needs extra armor? I need to cast the spell Lidia gave me. I'll use it on myself if you warrior types are fine. Anton? Menhir?"

He then continues leading them little bit off the original route so they can look at the scene without having to come too close as they are not stealthy enough to come as close as he was.

Eltyr sits quietly as the others speak about the mound and what they found there, grinning briefly when Menhir says “burning wood”, as if expecting a brief answer from the elemental, but not saying anything.

Shouldering his satchel and standing, Eltyr casting a spell as he reaches his feet, before saying, “Okay, I’m ready to go.”

OOC: Eltyr casts mage armor on himself.
