D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

Chrysagon, Imogen, & Rodrigo vs Grey Ghoul2, 3, & 8

Rodrigo performed some fancy sword-work as a ghoul lunged in at him, swiping with its claws. There was some back-and-forth, but in the end, Rodrigo got the worst of it: as he danced back, he realised that the ghoul had got him with a scratch.

As another ghoul came up behind Rodrigo, it suddenly lurched forward and fell to the ground. One of Miss Imogen's arrows protruded from the back of its head. Climbing up to a position near the statue's oversized feet, she fired another arrow into the back of a ghoul that was fighting with Chrysagon.

The paladin's flail spun about, striking the creature on its raised arm. There was the sound of a bone breaking, but the ghoul's other hand snaked out, scratching at Chrysagon's chest.

GM: Claw damage is slashing. There's some Necrotic in the ghoul's bite, but only Qawasha has been bitten.
Damage Taken:
(BGs) GG2 14 (arrow) & 10 (flail); GG3 14 (Arrow, Destroyed)
(PCs) Chrysagon 14 (& dc12 Strength save or be knocked prone for 1 minute.)
Rodrigo 13 (less whatever parry does. If any damage remains, then roll Str Save as above)
[sblock=rolls]
GG8 vs Rodrigo
Attack: 1D20+5 = [16]+5 = 21
2D6+3 = [4, 6]+3 = 13

Dellrak, Harb, Qawasha & Weed vs Grey Ghoul 5 & 6

Though he still could not stand, Qawasha was able to crawl away while Harb distracted the hungry ghoul and Dellrak burried his axe into the head of the other one. The dwarf stepped around the falling undead as he pulled his axe free, grinning. Weed met his friend on the dock and he tried to help Qawasha stand, but it was no use. The druid could not feel his legs.

Harb knocked the ghoul's clawed hands away from him again and again as it tried to get at him, but equally, he found no way to get at the creature without risking a scratch - and while he was curious about the sensation of the ghoul paralysis that could ruin the use of his legs, as it had Cimber and Qawasha's, he was determined that it was better he remain ignorant in this case.

Artus Cimber & Dragonbait vs Grey Ghoul 10 & 11

Dragonbait clove another ghoul in twain with seemingly little effort and then marched over to aid his companion, but he was a little late: In spite of him stabbing the ghoul over and over with his long knife, the ghoul leaned in and bit Artus Cimber hard on his shoulder. "Aaagh!" he cried and cursed.

Putting his foot on the grey ghouls chest Dellrak wrenches the axe from the things skull. "Eh? They do be having brains in 'em at that. Not so smart..."

He starts to make a joke as he turns to survey the battle and sees Rodrigo fall. Wasting no time he leaps at the back of the creature not even feeling the connection start, not even knowing he made the connection to begin with.

"Ro'do dar... Ulp!"

The debris trips up the poor dwarf as he comes rushing in and he has to catch himself before falling face first into the dirt.

OOC: Move: AL29
Action: attack ghoul #8
[roll0], dmg [roll1]
Bonus Action: Planar Warrior ghoul #8

Had to happen sometime, the hot dice are gone. So sad.

From her perch, surveying the combat as a dragonchess player surveys her board, Miss Imogen has seen her companions begin to drop, and as yet she is unaware of their condition. Cimber, Quawasha, Rodrigo, and Chrysagon.

She feels herself losing the focus she has had. But she pushes on, and fires a single arrow at the ghoul she has just hit.

OOC: Round 5.

Bonus action: Fighting spirit: advantage until the end of the current turn. (no uses left).
Action: Attack with Sharpshooter AI 28*. Better of [roll]1d20+2[roll] and [roll0]. If a hit, damage = [roll1].

Move: back up 5' and then leap to AJ 17 (on top of the remaining tent)?

Harb felt the fight going against him so began to hold back until he felt the solid crack of his quarter staff against the creature's arm, following through on his strike he pushed the creature's guard aside and kicked twice in hope of finishing it off.

OOC: If the ghoul falls he'll look for another. If not, he'll use his last Ki point to get 2 kicks in.

Quarterstaff(V): 1D20+5 = [10]+5 = 15
1D8+3 = [5]+3 = 8
(Actually.... I have been playing wrong since the beginning. See OOC thread.)

Unarmed: 1D20+5 = [15]+5 = 20
1D4+3 = [2]+3 = 5
1D20+5 = [19]+5 = 24
1D4+3 = [4]+3 = 7

With Dellrak face-down in the dirt, Miss Imogen fired another arrow and then leapt from the statue to the top of the remaining large tent. She could hear the sound of a ghoul, sniffling and snorting as it cowered inside the tent, afraid of Chrysagon and his God. Her arrow struck the ghoul who was scratching at Chrysagon, right next to another arrow of hers, precisely where she had intended it.

Harb spun his quarterstaff and kicked and smashed his ghoul to a pulp and then ran to aid Rodrigo. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Dragonbait cleave the last of the the ghouls harassing Artus Cimber and then the Saurial reached down and lifted the former harper to his feet. Artus Cimber could still not stand, but his companion held him up as he looked around for more ghouls.

There was only one left, reaching down toward Rodrigo with its mouth agape, ready to bite. Then a stone struck it in the head hard, and it fell on top of Rodrigo, who rolled it off of himself while he struggled to sit up. A shrill whistle came from Kupalue as the little vegepigmy celebrated his victory, dancing around waving his leafy sling to show that it was he, Weed, who had hurled the last stone.

"Yes, yes, you are a great warrior." said Qawasha with only partial sarcasm, "Now please come help me to stand."

End of Combat

OOC: With a few loose ends. There's two Ghouls still, but they are turned. At AW30 and AM17.
