Round 4

Now that he had the hobgoblin captain’s attention, Angis slid around to his side, hoping to get the pair of hobgoblins in front of him and not flanking Enseth. His axes whirled as he swung hard at the hobgoblin, though neither blow was able to land.

Watching the arrow bounce off of the corner of Titus's shield, Dandin laughed and started to mock the archer again before the second arrow struck him in the leg.

Suddenly, Dandin thought better of it and ducked behind Averiel to drink a healing potion. He was just starting to feel a bit better when he noticed that the elves were shooting arrows down the hall. "Uh guys! We need to hurry!"

OOC: BTW, not that it changes her first attack, but she should have had disadvantage on the first shot from failing his first mockery of her. (She'd already used her action the previous round.)

Healing Potion: 2D4+2 = [2, 4]+2 = 8

Tommi can't believe the size of the general in front of him. His massive bulk, and armoured presence seems continually to resist they young man's meagre attacks. He reaches for another handful of stones, rattles the in his fist, blows into it, and then loads one in his sling.

A quick underhand launch and the bullet flies...

Tommi is back between the pillars before he knows the result.

OOC: Bonus: Magic Stone.
Move (a): move east 15', to within 30'
Attack (with advantage, thanks to Orb): the better of [roll]1d20+5)[roll] or [roll0]. If a hit, damage (with sneak attack) is [roll1] bludgeoning.
Move (b): back to to C17 (with some cover?).

Reaction (if someone ends turn within 5'): move 15' if needed.

Legend
Angis, Enseth, & Tommi vs General Shorgg & Captain1

Angis swung his axes at Shorgg, but he could not get around the general's shield. Frustrated, the hobgoblin smashed his sword at Enseth while shoving Angis back with his shield. He could not get through the Shield Guardian's defences, and it made him very angry.

The hobgoblin captain fared no better against Enseth's superior defence, so he turned on Angis. As the dwarf was forced back by the general's shield, the captain lunged with his greatsword and pierced Angis' abdomen. The dwarf dropped an axe and stumbled back onto his bottom, clutching at his stomach to keep his insides in.

ORB3 buzzed about, shining a small red light on the general's head. Tommi lined up his shot and slung a stone which struck the general right in the temple. He stumbled to the side and the weight of his armour toppled him over. He fell to the ground with a crash and lay there, stunned, concussed, and very probably dying.

GM: I sometimes like to describe shots that take people down as not instant-kills. Sometimes a lethal blow takes awhile to finish you off. Both Shorgg and Angis are out of HP, though.
Damage Taken:
(BGs) Shorgg 15 (Dying);
(PCs) Angis 19 (Dying);
(NPCs) None
[Sblock=Notes]
Shorgg vs Enseth. Can't catch a break.
Attack: 2D20.LOW(1)+6+1D4 = [11, 3]+6+[4] = 13
1D8+3 = [6]+3 = 9
2D20.LOW(1)+6+1D4 = [1, 14]+6+[2] = 9
1D8+3 = [5]+3 = 8

Captain1 vs Enseth
Attack: 2D20.LOW(1)+4+1D4 = [7, 19]+4+[1] = 12
5D6+3 = [2, 5, 5, 3, 3]+3 = 21

...Just ain't working so he turns his 2nd attack on Angis:
(Yes, that damage is right. He's got "Martial Advantage"
Attack: 1D20+4+1D4 = [11]+4+[4] = 19
5D6+2 = [6, 1, 2, 5, 3]+2 = 19

Not our Dwarf's day...

Titus sees the General go down, as well as their teammate. He felt a...pull to Angis. As if he knew how to stop the bleeding. How would he know that?

But he had a moment. He needed to finish off this Captain, with Morwen’s help.

He sliced at the Captain, going for the neck.

[roll0] or [roll1]
[roll2]

OOC: Let me try to kill this guy, and I can cast Spare the Dying on Angis on my next turn.

Legend
Dandin, Titus, & the Elves vs Captain2 & Aasha

Dandin ducked behind Averiel while he drank a healing potion and worried. He had a lot to worry about as Averiel traded arrows with the hobgoblin archer and got the worst of it: The elves arrows struck the crates that the hobgoblin was hiding behind, while the hobgoblin's arrows flew true, striking the elf in her upper arm. It was only her armour that stopped the arrows from rendering the arm entirely useless.

Down the stairs, there was only one goblin and it was running away, so Tarthagal left it to his son while he rushed up the stairs to help. He fired two arrows at the hobgoblin archer, but his went over her head as she ducked behind the crates. Ganalan also missed his target - the goblin dashed away, running around the corner and out of sight.

While his winged cat flew about them, Titus traded blows with the hobgoblin captain, giving a deep but not-yet fatal wound while receiving a minor cut on his cheek.

GM:
Damage Taken:
(BGs) Captain2 10;
(PCs) Titus 3; Dandin (Healed 8);
(NPCs) Averiel 8 & 10
[Sblock=Notes]
Averiel vs Aasha
(she's not having a good fight. I think she hit once in 10 arrows)
Attack: 1D20+4 = [8]+4 = 12
1D6+2 = [5]+2 = 7
1D20+4 = [4]+4 = 8
1D6+2 = [1]+2 = 3

Tarthagal's not faring much better
Attack: 1D20+4 = [10]+4 = 14
1D8+2 = [7]+2 = 9
1D20+4 = [9]+4 = 13
1D8+2 = [6]+2 = 8

Or Ganalan...
Attack: 1D20+3 = [3]+3 = 6
1D8+2 = [4]+2 = 6

Aasha, on the other hand... Dice roller is working against the party.
Aasha vs Averiel
Attack: 1D20+5+1D4 = [12]+5+[3] = 20
1D8+3 = [2]+3 = 5
1D20+5+1D4 = [9]+5+[3] = 17
1D8+3 = [7]+3 = 10

plus her sharpshooter thing:
Attack: 1D8 = [3] = 3

Captain2 vs Titus
Attack: 1D20+5+1D4 = [12]+5+[3] = 20
1D8+3 = [2]+3 = 5
1D20+5+1D4 = [9]+5+[3] = 17
1D8+3 = [7]+3 = 10
