The arrow has hurt Tommi, and he doesn't know where it has come from. His eyes remain on the general, and Enseth's encouraging words. Tommi whips another stone at the general, and then shrinks back into the shadows.

OOC: Attack (with advantage): the better of [roll0] or [roll1]. If a hit, damage (with sneak attack) is [roll2] bludgeoning.
Move: to C17 (hopefully with some cover?).
Bonus: (stealth to hide) [roll3].

Reaction (if someone ends turn within 5'): move 15' if needed.

Legend
Interlude: The Kitchen

The hobgoblin chef was chopping away at an animal carcass, preparing a meal for the Host's commanders. It was late afternoon, and this would be their first meal of the day, as goblins preferred to operate in the evening and late into the night. As he chopped, he heard a sound like an echo from the stairwell that led down into the tavern's cellars. The sound was not unlike a forge - a hammering noise. He stopped chopping and looked up. Two of his goblin assistants were arguing over some foolish thing and he ordered sharply, "Shut up, you lot! Listen."

The goblins quieted and the sound came again, but it was unmistakable this time: It was the sound of a mace hitting a shield.

The chef wiped his hands on his apron and headed out of the kitchen for the hallway, calling to a few goblins as he went. "You! Go and fetch the Red Wizard. You and you: Wake the bugbears. I don't care! Wake 'em!" he roared as the goblins began to protest, "You two go and see what is happening."

While the goblins ran off, the chef stood at the top of the stairs sharpening his cleavers. He hoped that there would be elves - or better yet, a halfling. He loved the taste of a halfling.

Dandin Grinned at the look of consternation. He'd found a sore spot, and intended to monopolize on it. He noticed Tommi taking aim at the general again and threw some encouraging words his way. [/color=green]"Go on Tommi! Show her how it's done!"[/color]

Then he waited as the enemy archer took another shot before mocking her some more.

OOC: BA: Bardic Inspiration in Tommi [roll0] (Going to try using it proactively from now on. Only way that makes sense. Last Inspiration use, I believe.

A: Viscious Mockery, Will DC: 13 or [roll1] psychic and DA on next attack.

Round 3

Angis slumped against the wall, bleeding heavily, as the second hobgoblin went down. Enseth was taking a beating. He needed to help the big construct.

Pulling himself up, Angis rushed at the back of the hobgoblin pounding on Enseth, slashing at him with both axes.

Legend
Enseth & Angis vs General Shorgg & Captain1

The hobgoblin general was getting frustrated; sure, he liked the challenge of fighting a large steel construct, but Enseth was very difficult to harm. He tried to knock the shield guardian over by sweeping his legs with his shield to no avail, so he brought his sword up under the arm-joint, but the joint pivoted unnaturally and moved aside. The hobgoblin snarled in rage.

The general's attacks were so ferocious that Enseth needed most of his defensive calculations focused there, which left his back open to attack from the other hobgoblin. Fortunately, he was able to initiate a well-timed magnetic pulse, and the hobgoblin captain's sword arced unnaturally - the harder the hobgoblin swung it toward him, the further the sword was pushed away.

Not one to miss an opportunity, Angis rushed in. He hooked one of his axes on the captain's wrist and spun him around while delivering a solid blow with the other axe to the hobgoblin's shoulder.

Legend
Tommi & Dandin vs Aasha

Dandin shouted some words of encouragement to his friend, and Tommi felt the excitement of battle overtake the pain of his arrow-wound. He slung another stone at the general's bare head and was happy to see it leave yet another red welt on the side of Shorgg's bald head.

Tommi ducked for cover between two large crates as Dandin distracted the archer. She ignored the halfling's taunts, but she looked away long enough for Tommi to disappear behind the crates. Having lost her target, she turned on the annoying halfling, sending two arrows past Titus's shield to strike Dandin once in the thigh, nearly knocking him down the stairs.

GM: I bet Shorgg really wishes he'd put his helmet on. Tommi would have missed without Dandin's inspiration, BTW. Nice use of it.

Legend
Titus & Averiel vs Captain2

Titus began to move across the room to go after the hobgoblin archer, but he was intercepted by the one that had been calling out orders. The hobgoblin held two swords, and it swung the larger in an overhead arc while thrusting low with the shorter sword. Titus brought his shield up against the first, and turned his body to the side, narrowly avoiding the second. He thrust his own sword between the hobgoblin's two and found the point managed to just get through a joint in the hobgoblin's half-plate armour.

Averiel ran up the stairs behind Dandin, determined to help in the big fight. She fired arrows at the Hobgoblin fighting Titus; one glanced off its shoulder-plate, and the other went wide as she overcompensated to not hit the young nobleman.

Tarthagal & Ganalan vs Goblin1 & 2

Tarthagal would have joined Averiel up the stairs, but his son Ganalan shouted a warning in elvish: Goblins were coming! In his excitement, Ganalan's arrow went short, skipping along the tunnel's stone floor. The goblins screeched and began to run away, but Tarthagal shot them both; one died instantly with an arrow in its back and the other was struck in its behind and it yelped as it ran.
