D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

OOC: I'm losing track of which round we are in. Tommi will be up soon, though...

The arrow snaps past his thigh, grazing it on the inside. As he drops, Tommi feels a momentary relief that the shot had not gone higher, or that he were shorter.

He holds his breath for a beat, loads his sling, and then again stands to fire at the hobgoblin nearby who is distracted by the melee.

OOC: Move: along the beach in shadows if possible.
To hit: [roll0]. If a hit, damage (with sneak attack) = [roll1].
HP 7 AC 14.

Angis and Lionel

Lionel limped forward. He nearly reached the poor woman before the goblins scattered before him, spooked into action by Angis' quarrel as it skipped over the stones between them. As the goblin dragged the woman away from, she yelled, "Help me! Please!" with wide-eyes. Another goblin shook yet another goblin awake; it shook its head and began to climb to it's feet.

The scattering goblins revealed a hobgoblin rising to his feet between them, lifting up a battle-axe that had fallen to the stones when he had fallen asleep. Lionel realised that he was in very big trouble. His only reassurance was that Angis was now beside him, with an axe in hand. But he saw that the dwarf was breathing hard, more battered than he was letting on.

They might not make it.

Charging his Battlefist with maximum power, Enseth calculated a striking solution. Then on an instant, targeting the hobgoblin, he launched two strikes in a row.

Bonus action: War priest. Battlefist on Hobgoblin, miss

Dandin

Dandin wasn't sure if the Goblin could understand his words, but it was clear his mockery had worked. The goblin's face flushed purple and it struggled with shaking hands to nock an arrow. So crazed it was in anger and frustration, that the arrow flipped and landed in the dirt. The goblin shuffled back behind the cottage. The other goblins behind it also went the other way, and for now, he and Snake were safe.

He told the riverfolk to go, and they ran across the rocks heading for the boat, carrying the injured man and trailing the small boys behind them.

Tommi

Tommi's stone missed the big Hobgoblin and clattered across Enseth's shield and onto the ground. He crept along the shore, hoping he was far enough out of sight, but the hobgoblin archer had keen eyesight and lobbed another arrow at him. Tommi saw it in the light of the burning cottage and rolled to the side, just in time. The arrow struck the surface of the river just behind Tommi with a splash. Tommi could see the archer marching down the bank toward him, far too close for comfort.

Titus and Enseth

Enseth hammered away at the hobgoblin boss, who blocked and weaved expertly, avoiding the Shield Guardian's blows. Then suddenly from out of the sky, a blue-winged cat descended on the raider, scratching and clawing at his face. As the hobgoblin stepped back, off-balance, Titus thrust his sword just below the cat's swirling tail, taking the hobgoblin in the throat. As the cat flew off, the hobgoblin gurgled, clutched at his throat, and fell backward onto the ground, his eyes staring at the sky.

The "front line" pressed forward, ready to take the fight to the next group of goblins, who scattered before them, fleeing toward their boat. They left behind one sleeping goblin, and they fired their bows at Enseth as they retreated; arrows breaking over his shiny exterior to no effect. The newly-awake hobgoblin clearly understood that the chain-of-command had fallen on him and he waved his arms and shouted in the goblins' garbled tongue.

Angis understood him to be saying, "Shoot only the fleshy-ones, you idiots! Return to the boats with the prisoners we have! By Bargrivyek, I will have a disciplined retreat, or you will be punished!"
