Round 0

OOC: Spend a hit die.
Hit Dice: 1D10+2 = [6]+2 = 8

Angis hacked up a lung, but managed to get it under control with liberal amounts of alcohol from his flask. He lay on the grass resting and recuperating, treating a few singed patches of skin, trimming scorched hairs from his beard. He agreed with the others about rescuing the townsfolk, and didn’t even complain about following the elves deeper into the forest.

Dandin left Hanar behind. He was tethered loosely enough to a tree that he wouldn't wander off but could get away if needed.

Thus freed to move at his own pace, Dandin's natural nimbleness showed itself and the halfling moved through the terrain nearly as easily as any elf. He took the opportunity to help out with the scouting where he could, keeping his eyes out for danger while jeepibg himself unnoticed. Or such was the plan, anyways.

Enseth casts Guidance on Dandin and send ORB2 to assist the bard with the scouting.

OOC: Giving 1d4 to a skill check and advantage to anything the drone can help with.

Dandin, Tarthagal, and Ganalan scouted forward with ORB2 flitting about them. Dandin was happy to find that Ganalan, and not he, was the weak link in the group. Tarthagal was an experienced scout and was instructing his young nephew, Ganalan in the craft. Dandin was not sure how one could tell when an elf was 'young', but the information was interesting.

They heard a crashing noise from not far away and peering through the trees, they could see a squad of hobgoblins marching along a trail, heading for the work-camp, just as they were.

"I could take the elves, and lead this group away while the rest of you rescue the human prisoners." suggested Tarthagal, speaking elvish (which Dandin was happy to have a chance to speak).

They were not far from the work-camp, where ORB1 had spotted goblin worg-riders in his original report. A squad of hobgoblins would not be a welcome addition to the opposition.

OOC: And this way I won't have to run a ton of NPCs every fight. I like to do it here-and-there, but I'd like to let you guys do it yourselves this time. S'up to you, though.

"Will you be safe?" asks Tommi. He looks around quickly at his companions. "That would be great, right? And would we meet back here?"

He looks at the elves, slightly desperate. He fears that they might lead off the goblinoids, but not return, even once they are victorious. He wasn't going to see them again, was he?

Dandin nods thoughtfully at the suggestion. "I agree. Shall we try to meet back at where we last stopped? I need to collect Hanar and the cart at the least."

"We can meet here and go find your mule before continuing on, certainly." agreed Tarthagal.

The elves gathered and after waving fare-thee-well, they disappeared into the trees. Dandin led the rest toward the site of the work-camp. ORB2, who had been scouting the location, returned to Enseth before they arrived, and downloaded a map which helped Dandin to lead the group to a stand of trees just opposite where the human prisoners laboured.

A goblin lookout rode a worg while two other worgs shaded themselves under trees. A goblin with a whip lashed the back of one of the half-dozen human labourers while another goblin watched, laughing.

Bump.png

Tommi moves 30' east, staying amongst the trees. Reaching in to his pocket and pulling out a small handful of pebbles. In his practiced move, he blows into his palm, and loads one into his sling.

Whiz, toward the rider.

OOC: Move: H27 to N27.
Bonus: cast Magic Stone.
Attack. [roll0], with [roll1] bludgeoningin if a hit.

EDIT: Past the rider.

OOC: I was in a hurry, so I didn't do much describing.

The human prisoners consisted of five men and one woman, and all were in rough shape. They had been digging with pick and shovel in the side of the hill that the locals called "the bump". They were clearly mistreated: whipped hard enough to ruin their tunics and worked to the point of exhaustion. The one that was currently being punished looked as if he could scarcely hold his shovel.

The worgs sniffed the air at the approach of the Daggerfordians, but only the one with the rider could be bothered to growl. Still, it was warning enough: the rider spun his mount to investigate, and was able to duck to the side as Tommi's stone flew past him.

"Ah-bee, yark yark!" the creature yelled.

OOC: Right at this moment, the two riderless Worgs count as prone, curled up in the shade as they are.

Dandin watched the stone fly past the worg rider with a bit of a start himself. He hadn't thought to jump right into things, but it did seem as if the beasts had sensed them out. With a quick calculation, he decided to even up the numbers in their favor a bit, he hoped. Pointing his shawm towards the two goblins in the rear he played an enchantung little lullaby tune. Once complete, he slipped back into the crowd of his allies, knowing better than to test his mettle against those huge maws.

OOC: Casting Sleep: [roll0] Q13 maybe? Hoping to be just enough to hit the 2 goblins and maybe catch the warg if I'm really lucky. Definitely trying not to catch any of the prisoners if I can avoid it.

Then moving to E 27.
