D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

Dandin glanced at Tommi with a small chuckle as he imagined the human driving his cart. Though of average size in full, it was built specifically for a smallfolk driver. Dandin had a comfortable seat for himself, but anyone else, even one of the dwarves would be fairly uncomfortable behind the reigns.

"While I appreciate the volunteering, I think our best bet is a bit of trickery. I can play the hapless merchant quite well, being a merchant and all. Besides, we're like to need your arts in some other fashion anyways. So, who wants to be the cargo? Enseth maybe...? Who else?"

"I'm in." - Drui replies in a half-sunken voice. He'd rather take the risk by Enseth's side, should he accept, and having a spell or two might do the trick, should the need arise.

"Affirmative."

"ORB1, new directives.
[1]> Go scout the tower.
[2]> Do not get spotted."

Enseth casts guidance on ORB1 before sending him to the tower then he climbs onboard and covers himself completely with his brown fabric.

Enseth was able to force his arms and legs at awkward angles to allow himself and Drui to cram into the back of Dandin's little cart. The axles squeaked under the weight and the mule would have to work hard to pull up the steep climb, but a loaded cart was quite probably an enticing target.

ORB1 returned to the tower and began scanning the interior through arrow-slits.

OOC: I'll need a stealth check for ORB1, and throw in a Perception while you're at it.

Dandin nodded as he gave the cart one last check before starting off. "It'll probably take us a bit to get up the road, the rest of you might want to find a good position to rush in once I give the signal."

That said, Dandin went around front of the cart and gave Hanar an apple for encouragement. "Here you go, and you'll get another when this's done eh'? Be brave for me and it'll be over before you know it "

Finished with that he climbs into his seat and takes the reigns.

Angis Honack
Daggerford
Morning
Round 0
“Be careful, lad,” Angis warned. He let the wagon get a bit ahead before following, pressing against the cliff face to remain as much out of sight of the tower as possible on the switchback road, using brush and rockfall for cover and, hopefully, the cart as distraction.

OOC: Okay, We've got two groups: Dandin, Enseth, and Drui are in the cart, moving up the road from the second group - Angis, Titus, Tommi, and Snake. I'd like two group checks. Dandin can give me deception (with Advantage for actually being a merchant!). Enseth and Drui can also have advantage (for being under a tarp) and can give me stealth or deception, whichever you prefer. Group two, everyone give me stealth (I have Angis already). The results will determine how advantageous your position will be when the inevitable fight begins. Ultimate goal being the orcs leave the tower and yet are surprised by the attack. Don't worry too much about low individual rolls (It's a group effort). I'll adjudicate the result.
