"No reason to be unduly harsh, Tommi. You bound her, you don't have to sit on her or have the blade bared."
Vairar suggests nudging the human off the noble elf before waking her.

But his first attempt fails, she seems not only knocked out, but deep in her mind. "Maybe she is still fighting inside?" Vairar thinks before taking off his gauntlet and slapping her hard which seems to do the trick

OOC: I take some liberties with "stabilize the dying" in that I can wake her immediately :)
Medicine / Healers kit to awaken Shalendra: 1D20+3 = [2]+3 = 5
Medicine / Healers kit to awaken Shaledra: 1D20+3 = [9]+3 = 12

"They are magic. They cannot necessarily be remade." Escella says. "That is why I suggested reviving Shalendra. Additionally, feats of strength are not for me. One of you stronger types would have to break it. Time is probably important. We can only hope the gate house free from assault. And we know nothing of the rest of the keep."
"All things can be remade."

He grabs the chain and puts everything he has in the effort to break them. To no avail.
He lowers his head
"I am still weak from the touch of those shadows. My apologies lord, I cannot unmake them."

Str check: 1D20-1 = [17]-1 = 16

Tommi does not know how to respond to Vairar.

He lacks the elf's experience, and seniority, and it may be he is being unduly careful. Yet he knows of spells that take over one's mind with a single word. He looks at the corpses strewn around the room, the blood on the floor, the manor's Lord in magical fetters, the wounds on his own body, and shakes his head. To think the person responsible for bringing an orc army into this place, willingly or not, might be no threat is not a question of kindness.

Does Vairar not understand the danger that any failure of caution against an orc army might present?

Tommi remains silent.

Shalendra awoke, her face wan and lined with fatigue. She spat blood and slowly sat up, making sure not to make any threatening gestures as Vairar watched her closely. They were not friends, exactly, but she had known Vairar for some time, and they had a mutual respect. She threw off her shield (which had been strapped to her arm) and cradled her knees.

Finally, she said softly, "I am a fool. I have made terrible choices. I do not ask your forgiveness, I do not deserve it."

She said the last while looking at the ground, but she was speaking to her brother. When she looked up to see what he might say, she realized that his back was to her, bound in the Iron Bands.

"Uvolnit." she said flatly and the bands twisted and released Sir Darfin. They wound themselves into a fist-sized ball and flew toward her. The ball of bands would have been easy to catch, but she let it hit the floor where it landed with a pang and then rolled to where Tommi could easily grab it.

Darfin turned to his sister, angry at first, but he softened when he saw how defeated she looked. He had known her her whole life; three hundred years; and he had never seen her look so utterly crushed.

"If you wish to bind me with it," she told Tommi, "Say 'svazat' and throw."

Gutter pulsing in his hand, Tommi reaches down to pick up the metal sphere. He's still close by Shelendra, and he's still hurting from her betrayal.

"It is not for me to decide your fate. It is Sir Darfin that your actions have betrayed." He pauses, but does not look away. "My lord, the attack outside continues, I presume. Your words and leadership are needed. Tell us what we can do to protect this place."

Blood has seeped into Tommi's shirt, and over his hand, caking on the lvly ring Sherlen had once given him. He does not know whose blood it is.

"If the portals are closed, now and truly, then perhaps we should leave this room and keep it sealed and guarded."

If instructed to do so, he will bind Shelendra. If they leave the room, he is willing to stand guard outside or go where he is sent. Before he leaves, however, he will retrieve the pieces of Orb 5, and stow them safely (or hold them in his hands).

Sir Darfin considered for a moment. His first impulse was to tell the lad to bind her, but he new his sister - or he thought he did - and she was never this contrite. Defeated.

"Keep it." he said to Tommi, "We may find use for it elsewhere."

"Talynen,"
he ordered his loyal subordinate, "Take her to her room. Stay with her there until I come to you. Shalendra, I trust that you will make no more 'foolish choices' today. Wait for me to come."

"The rest of you,"
he continued to command, "We will accompany them some of the way, to see that it is safe. Then we will see what condition the manor is in, and where we are at. I had some inkling, before things went wrong, that the druids had arrived at the gatehouse?"

"I have a healing potion you may have." said Sir Darfin and he gave it to Escella, "There is a rare superb honey in the pantry that has healing properties more powerful than a potion. It was a gift from a friend with very fine bees. There is a secret tunnel to the pantry behind one of the bunks in the nearby guardroom. Come, I'll show you."

OOC: Escella will heal 4d4+4 if she drinks the potion. Greater Healing.

"I would be grateful assuming we make it there without incident," Escella says. "When we left the gatehouse, it was secure. But since then we have no idea what has transpired. How did you get lured here, Lord Darfin? It would have made more sense for them to keep you unaware of these plans here. Also do we know where the Thayan orcs were being teleported to?"
