D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

"Do you think it's wise to bring the War Wagon?" asked Dandin, "It's much more difficult to move stealthily with it, though it adds comfort and protection."

Escella was sure that the old roads that led to the castle, while not by any means clear, would be clear enough for the wagon to make the journey, but Dandin was right. The orcs would be fools if they did not keep watch on the road.

OOC: I'm okay running it either way. You can hitch up the horses and take the wagon or leave it behind and walk. Up to you.

Tommi goes up to Dandin, a small note in his hand. "I'm sorry you're leaving us, friend," he begins. "But I'm glad you've found Ol' Sooty here. It won't be quiet for us for a while yet, and, um..." He shuffles his feet. "If you're back in Daggerford before I am, maybe you can give this to Sherlen?" He hands him the note, which is sealed shut with candlewax. "It's just a, well. You know." He's blushing a bit, but adds, "And maybe you can c heck in on my mom. She'll be carding the wool these days. I'm worried her hands'll be sore."

He wants to give Dandin a hug ans is thinking he might settle for a handshake, but before he does eaither, he excuses himself to place Orb5 in his, its?, resting space.

When Enseth's body starts clicking, Tommi's afraid he's broken something, and he soon realizes how unusual it is that there is any noise at all. The corpse, or the casing, in the wagon has been silent, an immobile object for so long. And when it suddenly springs to life, Tommi is stunned.

Tommi laughs in delight, but it's uncertain. When the new orb introduces himself, Tommi shakes his head. He has a giddy smile, as he introduces himself. "Hello, Oh-Six. Nice to meet you. Um. I knew your, uh, brother?"

Tommi offers an open hand, but does not know what response he expects, but he's just happy to find there is life emerging where he had felt there had been none. It was a good omen for the journey he was about to make.

Angis paused in his work on the wagon. “If ye think we dunnae need it, tha’s foine,” he said. “We can leave it fer the elves in case th’orcs come back. Stealthier on foot, I s’pose, aye, if tha’s wot ye want.”

"We should travel light. While the wagon is good as a defensive thing, we'll be out in the open and may have to race away from the horde of orcs. That thing is big, loud and slow. The shot from ballista is powerful and we already know the horde has some giants and big animals...but the downsides are greater than the use of bolt or two there will be time to shoot. I won't stop you from taking it, but I think you shouldn't. If we have to go off-trail at some point, what do we do with the carriage? What with the horses? If we just leave them, something may eat them or we can find ourselves facing our own ballista."

Vairar is not really inconspicuous with his long spear and the pennant flapping in the wind. The priest seems quite agitated with the idea of bringing the vehicle with them.

"It is just not elven way." he thinks as dubious advantages are described.

"Besides, the manor is lightly defended now and one or two ogres might be a serious threat with the orc groups that may be scattered around. Having a mobile heavy weapon might help the defenders here. Furthermore, horses will recover from their encounter with the bear and the ogres."

OOC: Ninja'ed

"And wud yu do wid 'er when we ent'r undergrund? Or da fordress." asks Dornuk gruffly.
"Leave it!"

OOC: don't let him intidimidate you @Prickly Pear / Lionel :p mules can survive where horses can't :)
