"This place is strong in the Dark Side," Kacela answers simply. "There is power here, for a Sith who is strong enough to...impress these lingering shadows. Whatever other factors apply, however many details and circumstances surround things, that is always what the Sith desire. More power."

The gand pauses, looking back across the darkened floor... jumble drone, whirr mumble clacketty hum, jumble drone "And with the Infinity Gates, every planet is walking distance, Jihahna Darut." She considers... guttural clack slurr clicketty mumble hum "This humble one believes the crystals are the demons." drone whirr mumble clack, drone clacketty clack "The Rakata were the masters of the Infinity Empire; the masters of the Kwa." drone slurr mumble "But they too fell before the demons."

She gestures with a gloved hand, glowrod dancing light into odd places: clacketty, hum drone long-whirr "Come. Alone is not safe."

Jihahna nodded briefly before standing. She followed this Gand and Cal, the dark presence in her mind looming, though it hadn't tried to take control of her or anything... Near as she could tell.

Her disinterest in being prepared for danger was something she couldn't quite express in simple terms. There were a combination of factors that led her to that decision...

It wasn't the force guiding her or anything, just a little act of defiance to the dark presence, a show of defiance against the anger and violence. Maybe it was a nice way to pay respect to the original temple too.

The team moved to explore the side tunnels before descending deeper into the earth. Nothing amiss seemed to be here, well Cal catch a glint of something unnatural out of the corner of his eye... suddenly blaster fire, one from the tunnel that Cal was looking down and one from a stalagmite a hundred meters away! Both bolts strike Reks sending him back reeling in pain!!!

Then the sound of metal against stone echos out of another chamber and two great metal droids appear... Sith Battle Droids!!! From the tunnel where the first sniper bolt came from Sith troopers appear and move forward and take cover as they get themselves set up to attack...

GM: Surprise round only Cal got a good enough Perception check to be able to act this round. Both blast shot at Reks, first sniper hit with a 22, for 20 Hit Points of Damage. This is enough to give Reks the Reeling condition. The second sniper hit with a 21, for 17 damage. Reks is now down 37 HP.

Cal can take an Action. The sniper by the stalagmite is 100 meters away and has half cover (+2 Ref). The sniper in the tunnel is 70 meters away and has half cover (+2 Ref).

Also in the Surprise Round the Sith Battle Droids took the Dash Action to move 32 meters and are presently 80 meters away in the general direction of where the sniper behind the stalagmite is hiding. A group of 6 Sith Troopers moved 12 meters into the tunnel with the other sniper and then took cover (half, +2 Ref). Another set of Sith Troopers moves in a different tunnel but you cannot see them yet.

Cal's Action?

Then everyone needs to roll Initiative. Still going for Group Initiative depending on which side rolls the best.

OOC: Without a map, I'm not sure if any of this is plausible, but if so, Cal is going to move 10-12 meters closer to the sniper who is 70 meters away in order to get within regular range of his carbine. He will only do this if he can take cover somewhere as well. Considering it sounds like there are a ton of stalagmites around that the sith are taking cover behind, I assume this is the case.

Move: 10-12 meters
Action: Take Cover

Cal caught an unnatural glint from the end of the tunnel. "Ambush!" he yelled, darting forward to seek whatever cover he could find. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Reks transfixed by the elongated blaster bolts specific to sniper blasters. The scout snapped off a quick shot in return but only managed to blast off a chunk of rock.

The gand looks down to the floor... but they've left the perimeter of the mosaic/trap... And the light streaming out of the central hole is now bathing the cavern in its small glow, outlining them against a lighted backdrop: perfect targets, even if they shut off their lights!

A ratcheting noise comes from the gand's covered throat as insectile eyes draw-in the scene.

[sblock=Redacted]Then: slur-whirr jumble click "Turn off the lights?"

OOC: Are we still in the perimeter of the mosaic puzzle/trap, GK? If so, the gand will point to the floor and add:

"Let them come to these humble ones."

OOC: Re lights, being inside he/she figures it'll (maybe) make it Lightly Obscured even with their Low-Light goggles, while *their* lights will likely make them easy(er) targets for us?[/sblock]
Faster than...: 1D20+4 = [18]+4 = 22 Lightning!

GM: No you walked back the way you had come out of the pattern (as it was mostly a big circle around the central dais that has now sunk into the ground) and then moved over to the side of the chamber where the tunnels were.

I really wish I was better with making online maps but I pretty much suck at it. A basic description. You can't see everywhere as its too big and some parts of the chamber are in total darkness, but it appears to be at least 200 meters wide at the area your group is at, and well over 500 meters long. Your group is on the 'eastern' side of the chamber where there are three main tunnels leading out. The Sith Battle Robots appeared out of one about 100 meters away, and the sniper and 6 troopers are coming from another tunnel that you are within 4 or 5 meters of. They are back about 80 meters away. There is a third tunnel around 60 meters away that no one has appeared out of...yet.

Most of the area is considered to be Dim Lighting (Light Obscured). Low-Light vision cancels this as does dark vision out to its range. Otherwise targets have +2 to their Defense scores and you have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks.

The central of the chamber is unnaturally flat but here by the side tunnels there are many stalagmites around so anyone can have half-cover (+2 Reflex) within any movement that you might want to take. Remember the ranges of your weapons. Blaster Rifles are 60/600, which means that you are at a Disadvantage if you are firing farther then that. Pistols are even worth range...

Does that make a bit more sense?

GM: The lighting seems to be coming from down below where the dais disappeared into and the first hallway you came out of. When the dais sank into the floor a soft light started glowing from both areas...
