Invasion of Mori - IC [3.5][CE/NE][planar]

"Does it matter?" Silhouette sighs. "Without our full strength, assaulting the kobolds would be foolish. Even if we're not all going, those left behind will have little to do but look at maps and concoct schemes."

Privately she fumes. This was the problem with working for Abyssal forces. No sense of continuity. Every time a crisis arose, they dropped everything else and threw massive overwhelming force at it. No staying power though, because once they crushed one foe, they threw it all at another.

On the other hand, there was a lot more room for an individual to advance through personal merit than with the Infernals. With devilkind, it was always obeyobeyobey, marching in lockstep. Disciplined and effective, sure, but stifling and allowing no personal creativity.

The yugoloths were interesting...but numerically insignificant, and playing a minor support role in the planar carnage that was the Blood War. They, like she, played both sides when it suited them, always seeking the best deal. For now, that meant the Abyss, and all that came with it.

Roillard bites his lip as several of the party break away and make for the portal, the strain evident in his face. Finally, unable to hold his silence, he rushes in front of the group. "Excuse me, lords! Forgive me once again, but I fear I was unclear. Not all of you are called back. In fact, there are express orders that some of you stay here so that the portal is protected. According to this, only those listed should return."

He holds the flimsy scroll up as if to ward off your impending wrath.

Rose darts a glance at the departing Gabriel and snorts. "Won't have to listen to the windbag anymore. Let's get going on this other stuff then."

After the rest depart, a fairly tall pale grey skinned 'human' with red rimmed eyes who exudes personal magnitism enters via the gate. He wears fine traveling clothes has a back pack and carries an adamantine great sword in a scabbard accross his back.

He looks at the the group and after a moment nods his head and announces, "Well, the powers that be taketh away, and giveth it appears. My name is Drax and I have been asked to offer my assistance. . ."

Seeing that his name wasn't on the list, Kelteror says with exuberance "Ha! It seems I will taste elf flesh after all! So, what are we to do? I still say we get the worm to attack the city!"

Drax hears the conflicting goals and says 'Worm? Want to fill me in? I might have a few ideas..."

OOC:

Anyone can say "we tell Drax what happened' and we can go from there. Or, make up what you want (we are evil) or say nothing... Its all good. But, any suggestions will be made based on what he hears and he does have some abilities that can help.

Silhouette sighs a long-suffering sigh and says to Drax, "The cultists have incurred the ire of a band of mercenary kobolds led by a powerful sorceror that has undergone a transformation. It is now a 'worm that walks.' Deadly. We were planning a counterstrike when this news came."

Drax puts one finger on his chin in habit and offers, "Well getting it to attack the city then seems quite problematic then. We could always try the scry, buff, teleport, kick ass routine?"

"More or less exactly what we were planning when this happened. We're going to need some reinforcements before we attack though."

She considers. "I suppose we can simply wait until more come through."
