Invasion of Mori - IC [3.5][CE/NE][planar]

"Now, I thought the goal was to strike back quickly, before that magic-user could get its spells back. Now you think we should wait for reinforcements?" Rose asks bitterly. It is obvious the tiefling is growing impatient.

"It takes time for a spellcaster to replenish his power," Silhouette explains tersely. "It can't be done right away. And though I'd be happier if we had the forces to go now, the sad fact is that we don't. The addition of Drax helps, but we still need at least one more powerful individual before we're up to our original strength."

"Although people leaving would certainly make our force weaker," Vedak points out.

"Allright, let us wait a few hours and then depart. I propose we strike today, so the worm's spells aren't refreshed. If not, we strike at sunrise tomorrow".

OCC: Kelderor is trying to make things move, and the troop commander in him is taking charge. How long (in real days) should we wait for the new players?

(OOC - An excellent question! In fact, let's do a quick roll call either here or in the OOC thread in Talking the Talk. I'm actually fuzzy as to who's missing now and who's ready to boogie. :))

"Snargle ready. Attack kobolds, attack worm, attack angels, attack men. Snargle ready."

Indeed my eager friend. Let us go about our business. So, the main question remains: how do we incapacitate the worm as quickly as possible? Do the spellcasters among us have any tricks up their sleeves? If not, we could have our eager friend here attemot to grapple the creature.

Silhouette smirks subtly and motions towards the scraps of succubus goo still smeared over the floor not far away.

"Grappling a worm that walks is...inadvisable," she cautions. "In fact, approaching to any range it can touch you from is tantamount to suicide, or close to it. Even our friend Snargle, who might survive such a treatment, would certainly be incapacitated by it."

"No, I believe our best bet is to open with a long range salvo of our strongest offensive spells. I can approach closer with our warriors, shielded by invisibility, to sow chaos in their ranks and stop them from mustering an effective counterattack. If the worm and the other sorceror survive the initial barrage, perhaps try to pin them with summons...expendable fodder for the worm to waste its time on as we regroup for another salvo."

She surveys the newcomers appraisingly.

"Though to properly plan, it would be of help to know what our assets are. What are you new to Mori capable of?"

As Silhouette gives her tactical advice, Rose seers in the background. "Or I could just kill it..." the tiefling says under his breath.

He then, quite impatiently, waits for the newcomers to respond to the question.

An unwholesomely thin humanoid figure slithers through the gate. The light glitters strangely off of the wet-looking organic resin encasing the creature. One of its four fingered hands clutches a recurved black dagger defensively. It stops just in front of the portal, its attention riveted upon the party.

After a few moments it hisses, the single word a question, "Mori?"
