D&D 5E Ironfang Invasion (IC)

Harb Half-Elf Paladin

Harb looks troubled by all this talk of killing someone based on where they are from. Almost like hearing it is physically causing him pain.

"Vin is right. If you are not comfortable being the leader then we need to make a decision about who will make the tough choices. A council is a good choice I think. Are many animals around here this size?"

Lal steps closer to Harb. He could see his friend was troubled, and he thought he knew why... and he would speak out.

"Sure, this man might betray us... or he could save us all. The one person who hears the enemy coming and gives warning, or all sorts of permutation. We just don' t know, fate is strange that way.

Back home sometimes people do kill each other because of where they are from, or what gods they worship. It's ugly business, and I won't have part of it."

Harb places his hand on Lals shoulder and nods.

In a low voice. "Thank you, when the time is right. I have a story to tell you."

He then turns and walks over to the hunters and offers his help making multiple trips working to get the large hunks of meat back to camp.

It is near dusk when the group gets back to camp, they are met with wide eyes and welcome smiles as the townspeople see the large amounts of meat that is being hauled back into the camp.

“Your legend will only grow after this,” Aubrin said with a smile as she turned back towards the group. “You save us all from the Hobgoblin army and now you bring back enough meat for weeks.”

“I’d rest up,if you are game I’d like all of you to start looking for a more permanent and secure home, if our new friend can find us, that hobgoblin army can too.”

Aubrin started to walk towards her tent. “Edran, you’re with me.”

Dusk Day 2, Week 1

Harb Half-Elf Paladin

After helping the hunters in any way he can to make sure the meat doesn't go to waste Harb does his rounds checking on people injuries. It's been a good day. On a few occasions he finds himself within ear shot of Loosh and his stories. He listens and when the chance arises, makes funny faces behind Looshes back to make the kids giggle.

They have seen things that children shouldn't be exposed to... Anything that can help them forget the days troubles for a moment... anything to help them get through this without loosing hope.

Dawn had come and most of the villagers had eaten a bit of breakfast when Aubrin approached the bulk of the group.

“Good morning everyone, I’ve got most of the group organized but I’ve been thinking about what Vin said yesterday, about having a defensible position.”

Aubrin flashed a smile, “while this place is secluded and hard to find it isn’t exactly easy to defend. There are rumors of a vast underground cave network that would give us shelter, be well hidden and be more easily defendable then this position. The only problem is I don’t know exactly where it is.”

“One of my friends in the Chernasardo Rangers has said he has found it, the Rangers have a redoubt not too far from here, perhaps a two day trip, they might be able to help us find it. If you are up for it I’d like you guys to search them out.”

"I might be able to find it and save us some time?"
