I played an all goblinoid evil character adventure. It was fun. We were rampaging from town to town destroying everything. The highlights included coming on the herds of sheep at the outskirts of a village, setting them on fire and driving them amid town to create confusion. Then the ultimate moment came when we took the keep and my PC fired a ballista on the roof impaling the towns unsuspecting cleric as he fled the temple. "Where's your God now?!?" I let loose with a gutteral cry. :-) Always fun to go in different directions.

All the same race is my first pick.

All the same class can be fun.

But an organization/theme element works well too. Or flip the tables and make all the PCs slaves trying to escape to freedom. None of them can be a specific race, or possibly class.

I find it interesting that there are some people unwilling to try a game such as this. To each their own tastes though.

That would actually be quite cool
Actually, I agree...but bards typically get the short end of the stick.

Personally, I love their versatility. I played a militant bard once who wielded a greatsword and had power attack. He rocked!

Bards do get the short end of the stick but only from players and DMs that don't get them.

Well I am playing in a all Halfling PbP, inspired by an all kobold game.
Its a blast. 1st level, we are more like teenagers exploring a cave than adventurers.

I am preparing a All Dwarf game for gencon next year, but you play NPC classes (mostly)

so I would have to vote for the one race concept.

Throw the DM for a loop

I think it is ludicrus unless he provided more info; such as you are a cohort type unit in a war or in a guild, mercenary company, home is in a large forest that is constantly beseiged, or something like that. For flat out adventuring it seems silly - the game is designed around different classes with different roles (just like real life per se'). :\

You could Start off everyone as a human Paragon from Unearthed Arcana.

Then Give that DM a little taste of his own medicine:
1. Give everyone EXACTLY the same ability scores :)
2. Have everyone take EXACTLY the same feats and skills ;)
3. Have everyone do exactly the same thing (or as close to it as possible) every single round - even if obviously stupid, silly and/or suicidal.
4. If one PC dies; the rest kill themselves immediately.
5. If one PC gets a disease all the PC's try to get the same one (better yet get one intentionally!) :p
6. etc, etc.

It would be comical and show the DM exactly what he is doing. :D

I was in an all dwarf game last yewar, we played older dwarves who had retired from adventuring but had to get our armor and weapons back on (plus a girdle in some cases) and go out and safe the day. It was a blast.
