I've been throwing up too. I'm trying to spit out the blood rather than swallow it, though.

I didn't have that issue. Actually, I apparently had a much-easier time of it than anyone else here so far.

Mine were removed over Christmas break Senior year of college (after I started spitting out bits of teeth while eating...that was weird). I was knocked out for mine. Apparently the roots were deep enough that was the most efficient way. I had a prescription for some painkillers that really wasn't any better than taking Aleve, but it didn't hurt too much, either.

The worst part was bloody ice cream, bloody applesauce, and bloody soup. After a few days, I was desperate for solid food.

Try rinsing your mouth with warm salt water. That helped me and my brother when we had ours out.

Anyone experience the smell of burning flesh when their got taken?

I did. They had to dig for mine.

Absolutely disgusting. It didn't leave my nostrils for day. The smell of
me burning alive. And the taste of "burnt pork". Horrible.
Yup. For me at least, though, it was actually burnt tooth. One had to be cut because it was impacted or something--wouldn't come out. The roots grew off in different directions, so to pull it out intact would require a hole in my gum the size of two teeth, but by cutting it in half, each one could be pulled out in different directions through the same hole.

(Thanks for reminding me, that was a disgusting smell. I'm eating a pork chop sandwich right now too. Heh heh.... :\ )

Ooh, bleah. Mine were well packed with gauze. (I forgot that part, also.)

You'll get used to the feeling of "missing teeth" eventually. And the holes will grow over, except for maybe a bit of a dent. I do recall, however, getting food stuck in them for several...er, months.

I'm not sure what it was they used to numb me up when mine were removed, but I barely felt anything, except a slight tugging, when they had to cut my wisdom teeth to pieces and remove them from my head.

The worst part, for me, was afterwards. You can't eat for eight hours prior to the operation, or drink for four hours prior. Likewise, afterwards you're bleeding too badly to eat. This results in you taking heavy-duty painkillers (codeine) on an empty stomach, which likewise gave me the worst nausea I've ever experienced (just to make it worse, my brother had had his out three days prior to me, and he was fine).

You'll recover in a day or two, but make sure to get something in your stomach.

Whoa-ho! You were drugged up then. If you have anything on your stomach when you're anesthetised, you might vomit.

Me, I ate a hearty breakfast beforehand.

And popcorn afterward. ;)

But then, I'm pretty stupid.

So did they sew/suture part of your mouth over the area where they removed your wisdom tooth to protect it while it heal on its own? I had that and it wasn't fun, especially trying to eat something solid 3 days after the removal.

Yeah, me too. One minute I'm chatting with the nurse; the next minute, waking up with a mouth full of cotton wool swabs.

Eh. You can never have too much chocolate ice cream!

Apparently my wisdom teeth have come in witout a problem. According to three dentists they do not need to come out. No impacted molars, no decay, no good reason to remove them. Now I am just waiting for the one that says "Oh my god you have not had your wizdom teeth out? That needs to be done.... now." At which point I throw dentist Con and get seven other opinions. You are not pulling my teeth for a buck. And it will be expressly stated when I ask for the next opinion that none of the first through seven dentists will actually get to do the job. That job goes to the eighth dentist who did not give me his opinion.

Aaron.
