Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [OOC]

Just a couple of notes from my end:
1. I probably didn't cast Status since we're all travelling together.

2. As a point of interest @Neurotic , if Akos is talking about the heart and what 'experiments' you want to do - as part of the totally random spells I studied for the day, I took Consecrate, which lasts 16 hours and prevents undead from spawning or rising. If something like that comes up in conversation, Vitus would offer it. But not just to experiment. It would be as a precaution if he thought the heart might have some kind of corrupting magic that the consecration could prevent.

3. While the group is together, I can cast Mass Lesser Vigor and give 4 people 18hp. (I'm not sure how hurt people are)

4. On the walk to the Manor - or during the time we spend at the manor, you'll learn that Vitus isn't officially 'clergy' but only 'Blessed by Tyche'. His mother was a Priestess of modest power and his father was a 'Roving Wanderer Touched by Tyche'. His education comes from them. He's only met his father a few times because his father was always be travelling, 'letting the goddess lead his footsteps.' One day, When Vitus was 12, his parents went away 'to take care of something important', leaving him some of their important belongings, . They never returned so, he packed up his belongings and picked up the 'wandering lifestyle' - like his father. He was taken in by Lord Casca and made a Puer as a reward after he saved a Ticinum noble's daughter from goblins. He was 13 at the time. When he came to Bluffside, he was told not to make his talents public.

He's bored of politics and, while he loves wandering the city and delivering letters, he feels like his calling is doing something different. He's been feeling the Fated Lady's not-so-gentle promptings to move to a new adventure.

(some of this might come out IC, but I thought I'd give the gist here.)

Sounds like a great story for favored soul and not a cleric :p

Yes, I'd like a feedback on the experiment line - but that comes later, same with library research.

I'm willing to risk "no rest" for 12 hours since I don't think I can prepare spells before morning anyhow - so I'll run "on empty" for some time.

If we're not going to sea of stars immediately (depending on what we hear at midnight) - Tuck might be interested in following up on the rats (just get Akos from the library if you go after them)

Not sure how much time it would take but let's go with the following:
  • experiments and alchemy shopping 2 hours
  • library research (and maybe visit to the Temple of Sky) 5 hours
  • obtaining access to identify spells ? 1 hour? we would need to be all together for this - even if we manage to identify everything
  • destroying cold-iron weapons 1 hour
  • talk with at least some of The Five - Akos would try to influence their thinking on sorcerers - in short: explaining the ban creates ill feeling within city ranks because sorcerous powers might come unexpectedly to everyone and anyone and that causes hiding and dissatisfaction in normally patriotic citizens - minimum 1 hour
  • check the thicket 1 hour

Total: 2 + 5 +1 +1 +1 +1 = 11h - with one hour spent walking around or talking to people trying to arrange stuff

Well, I mean, he was taught by an actual Priestess of Tyche and is a devout follower who prays for his spells. It's more that he hasn't been part of a formal clergy because:
1. His parents were actually pretty neglectful
2. He's had to hide his 'powers'.

I hadn't really thought about what he does with his personal time outside being a Page. Maybe to make the story better, we can say he's also been devoutly attending and helping/volunteering at the local Temple (if there's one to Tyche). Or at least a luck or travel deity.

If not, maybe he made one(buy using some money to commission a small statue to Tyche and then consecrates it on special occasions (the spell only lasts 2 days extended) and has been preaching for a very, very small congregation. (If Jesus could preached at the temple at the age of 13, why couldn't Vitus) :)

You'll find that Vitus is willing to help and seems to have an abundant amount of energy and doesn't really seem to get tired. He's always excited to try something new.

Why are you destroying Cold Iron weapons??? I assume it's a fey thing.

Akos is part fey, isn’t that correct? That’s why.

Don't forget that you can identify magical items using Spellcraft...

DC 20 + caster level for minor magical items
DC 25 + caster level for medium magical items
DC 30 + caster level for major magical items

Detect magic must be cast and nothing must interrupt the caster. A character can try this once per day per item within the limits of the detect magic spell.
I still need to figure out the caster levels for the various magical items captured during the battle. For multiples of the same items, only one roll is required to identify all of them. So, there are many rings that are the same, but it only requires one roll to identify all of them.

I'm going to try to finish up the list of new treasure today and post a PDF for you guys. Each PC that took part in the battle gets a full share. So, that leaves out Vitus.

All the NPCs get a half share each, including a half share going to both Breva and Custodio (unless you guys agree they should each have a full share). Commander Oakfirst has no need for his share. If you want to allocate his to one of the local temples or to the rebuilding efforts in the Lantern Ward, it's up to you guys. (Or it can go to Vitus... or the Temple of Tyche.) Captain Camburn will get a half share and some of it will help pay for his resurrection. And, yes, it is going to be a resurrection spell, not a raise dead spell. (The commander's share could go to the captain as well, give Camburn a full share.)

Other NPCs that will get a half share: Burchard (Elite), Dradan (Regular), Emelia (Elite), Ela de la Camoys (Sectarian Captain), Leadda (Tower Wizard), Maena (Regular), Petronille (Elite), Thiudimer (Tower Guard), Vexander (Regular), and Zenpher (Elite).

So, that is a total of 14 half shares including Breva, Camburn, Custodio, and Oakfirst. So, another 7 shares in addition to those allocated to the PCs. So, that's a total of 11 shares to be divided up between the Exemplars and the NPCs present during the fight.

NOTE: Sobla only gets The Butcher's coin pouch that Tuck lets her keep. The pouch contains 33 pp, 36 gp, and 7 sp. It either comes out of Tuck's share or just comes out of the treasure list and is set aside for Sobla.

The rough estimate of each full share, so far, is 38,050 gp. That makes the half shares worth 19,025 gp. Those largesse's will become very important to the guards' families. Remember that while the Elite guards of Old City are often the youngest born from a noble family, not all of them are noble. This is even more true for the Regulars. None of the lower-level guards who fought alongside the PCs have levels in Aristocrat. I think only Captain Camburn has levels in that class.

However, some of them are noble born. Ela de la Camoys is from a noble family, but she is more tied to the Wizard District. Petronille's full name is Petronille Chauvechanteau. She is the youngest daughter from her family and has six older siblings. Dradan's full name is Dradan de Fresel. He is fourth oldest in his family and has seven siblings.

None of the other guards are from noble families.

Another idea for the commander's share is that he will donate to the family of the guard who died fighting against the traitor on the wall. Unglar didn't have any family, but the commander might donate half his 'half share' to one of the city's temples in Unglar's name. That would be 9,512 gp, 5 sp to the dead guard's family and the same to a temple in Unglar's name.

Now that the treasure list done, I'm going to go through all of the "villains" of the campaign and make a list of all that have caused trouble in Bluffside. Most of them will be the current foes of the Exemplars, but I will be including some of the enemies of the first group of PCs (from the game's time on The Piazza) who are still at large.

For such a list, would you guys also want the dead foes in the list. Only the ones whose names were publicly known, of course?

Roughly half of Ela's half share is the enchantress's spellbook, which she takes for her own collection and to be shown to the Wizard Council.
And maybe let Falen and Vinny copy some spells?

I loke the details like 'slobbered on' :)

Rockhorn would like blowpope, darts, and poison, the rest once everything is identified, but in general adamant armor maybe?

Most of NPC value should probably come from non-magic equipment so we improve the guards and elites.

How do we get money/items we want in exchange for this? Does Akos goes around getting extra value with diplomacy or we ask for something and someone gets it (and we donate the equivalent money)?

Asking because Rockhorn would stable Spritewing and go shopping unless Tuck goes rat catching.
