Lethal Star Trek Blade Seized in UK

I think if you don't notice the guy with the bat'leth before going down the dark alley, you should just resign yourself to getting mugged on a regular basis.

Unless he has a REALLY good Sleight of Hand check.

That is why I perfer my Klingon Dagger, probably still illegal to carry in certain places in the public but it has a belt loop!! :D

Wait... it's illegal to carry them in public, or it's illegal to actually just simply own those in the UK?

And getting away from the political issues I'd have with the latter one there, I find that picture amusing all to hell. It demands to be photoshopped with guys in klingon makeup added into the background.

Hrmmmmmph. Those are the dumbest weapons ever. Sure, it might be sharp (though if it's home made, probably not that sharp), but you aren't going to get a lot of leverage with it, the way you hold it like that. I'd rather have a switchblade.

(When I saw the headline, I thought "Maybe I was wrong, maybe you could actually kill someone with those silly Klingon swords. But nope, just the press being overly dramatic.)

A thin wedge of metal swung with enough force? Sure you can kill someone with it- you can kill someone with a dull letter opener.

Heck, I once cut myself with a curved "fantasy" knife.

I actually sparred with something like that. IME, its kind of like fighting with a short quarterstaff- you block with it until your opponent opens up, then you counterstrike. I know, its not at all how they used it in the TV show, but it worked pretty well.

You can kill someone with a pencil, trust me that weapon can be lethal.
