Lightning Bolt or Fireball?

Poor, Poor Master of Chains.

Well since i cannot stand and do not the Botchmaster 0001 Spiked Chain I aint to worried about the implications of those circumstance penalties.

Lightning Bolt. In game terms I think they come out equal (area effects seem like an even trade-off), but Fireball is just too Hollywood. Lightning is cooler than explosions, but of course lightning that causes explosions is cooler than anything. Is there a spell for that?

Theres nothing to hold a hallway like a well-placed Lightning Bolt.

Fireball is generally better except for in narrow tunnel-fighting scenarios and enclosed areas when firing off a fireball'd only hit you too.

What's the point of Haste when you can't use it to blast out another lightning bolt?

The wizard in my group is a fireball fiend. Lately its been fireball followed by chain lightning.

Fireball is better because it's damage is variable and Lighting Bolt only does 3. Then again, Lighting Bolt is an instant...
