Love and gaming

To those of you whose significant others are gamers, did you meet them in a gaming group, or did you meet first and then discover you shared a love of gaming, or something else?

Met my wife through a mutual friend. Said friend had played D&D with my (future) wife when they were in high school together, then played D&D with me when he went off to college.

She started gaming because I did, but she had "some(minute)" experience before-hand so at least the concept wasn't completely foreign.
Same here, 100%.

edit --- actually, maybe not quite 100%. I was already gaming when we met. So maybe between 50% and 100%. :uhoh: Gah, whatever.

I'd love it if my wife was interested in gaming. I think that pigs will fly before that ever happens though! :( She just doesn't have the interest in fantasy or the attention span that's needed. Heck, I've had enough difficulty finding a 2-player board game that is strategic enough for me but simple enough for her.

Oh well, I could think of a lot worse problems than her not liking gaming.

The wife played AD&D before I met her.

I was dating her best friend- whom I introduced to gaming.

After my GF and I broke up we stayed friends and gaming buddies, eventually we hooked up.

I don't know what this has to do with GenCon, specifically.

When I first moved to Boston, I started up a D&D game. I first met the lady who eventualy became my wife when she showed up to create a character for the game...
