Note: Not only do I work at ICE, who produces HARP, but I am also the person who designed it, and wrote about 90% of it. (Is this what you wanted me to say, Cthullu's Librarian?)
Yep. Being able to play with the designer of a game system is always a great way to get into the hows & whys of a game system.

I'm glad to see this is being done. I hope to attend.

And I realize that this is very late, but why do the Maryland guys always say that something 10 minutes from the beltway in Virginia is too far away, but something 10 minutes from the beltway in Maryland is "central"? :\

If the 0 milestone is central, GMU or Chantilly are no further away than Rockville or College Park.

Maybe next year in NOVA?

LOL. Seems that way doesn't it! I work in Old Town Alexandira and live in Herndon. What a lousy commute :( .

I don't know. Why do you 'burb dwellers think it's no big deal for us to ride a train for 45 minutes and then have to bum a ride from someone no big deal, but panic at the thought of actually having to come into the scary city?

What are you guys complaining about? I've got to drive 1.5 hours just to get to the beltway, then almost another 45 minutes to get to U of M! ;)

Dexterward - just fine with me - have editted my teaser appropriately

Tarondor - perhaps because nothing in Maryland is more than 10 minutes from the beltway? (It is a rather teeny tiny state) ;)

And, I am in the same boat as Cthulhu's Librarian, I live just as far away (and have no idea how to get there -- perhaps I should start driving the weekend before the Game Day? hehe)

Old One, Psion, MarauderX, Xath - I have been keeping a list of all DM/GMs by time slot, a full copy of the teasers, and a list of the players that said they are going to attend. Should I post to a new thread with the current DM/GM list and teasers, this thread, or should I stop keeping track of them? It seems like two or three people are keeping similar lists and the first person to see a post responds.

I must admit I am a little new to posting, so I don't know how to do all the cool links and list, but I think I can figure it out.

Rasyr - I added you to both AM and PM to DM/GM is that okay?

Please continue to keep...I won't hurt to have a backup (or two) just in case I get run over by a truck or suffer a deadly fireworks accident! I should have the formatted post up on Tuesday at the latest.

Thanks,

~ Old One

PS - I commute from north of Baltimore to Old Town, Alexandria 4x per week...so all you people quit whinin' about the drive ;)!

If this goes well and we decide to do another one, I imagine we will rotate the location around the DC beltway provided other venues are available. The deciding factors for U of M were: large and fairly inexpensive space, good parking and a variety of food vendors available 1 floor away from our space...pretty tough to beat!

Oh, we can beat that easily in Charlottesville. ;)

I think there's the teensiest chance that my point was missed entirely. I don't mind driving to the Uof M for the game. And driving into the city wouldn't bother me, either, if there were enough parking spaces.

My point was that the Virginia locations were being rejected as "not central" when the Maryland points discussed were equally far from the central point (DC).

And for the record, I used to commute from Chantilly to DC, but then I got smart. :p I quit my job, and set up my own business ten minutes away from home! ...Course, I'm broke. But I'm not in traffic!

Dexter Ward: I see that you're in Herndon. My bi-weekly D&D game in Chantilly is looking for players. www.theeurth.com.
