Meow, meow, traffic sucks everywhere. Next year I vote for NOVA, but this year I'll deal. After all people are coming from all over, but what I want to know is are you coming or not?

MX -

I checked out NOVA...the problem was the cost. To reserve the kind of space we were looking for and (big assumption) assuming we qualified as an official "non-profit" enterprise, we still would have been looking at ~ $750...for 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, plus overtime charges for extended hours.

I think that either a FLGS with sufficient space or a college student union (in conjunction with an on-campus group) is the only way to do this without it costing an arm and a leg.

PS - If I Mapquest my house and Chantilly to U of M, I think it is about equidistant :p! We are also drawing a few folks from mid-VA and PA/DE...so this does make it fairly central. Like I said, we will look at other venues in the future if it looks like we want to try a repeat.

Oh quit your grumblings, I live like five miles away from the campus and it takes like a....er, never mind! :D To be honest, if this was happening in Richmond, I'd happily make the trip! A chance to game with Enworlders (and in at least one case the designer of a game I could play in) is worth the trip to me!

F.Y.I.: If you get directions to UM that takes you down Route 1 (off I-95), that road is very direct (it literally runs through the campus) and is two lanes both ways; but it does on occasion get a tad crowded, so be prepared.

Sorry for the delay in getting to this. Children, job search, and buying a new home are really messing with my gaming habit. :D

"These are not men, they are demons."

DM: Tormenet

SLOT: Morning (AM)

GAME: D&D 3.5

TEASER: The shrill death pleas have stopped; the enemy partisans are all dead—probably. But what killed them?

Charged with delivering supplies to an isolated outpost, your detachment was this morning set upon by warriors loyal to the ousted Median Emperor. A daylong running battle forced you into this unsettling city.

The green porous rock structures are far removed from anything in your experience. The buildings are crammed against one another, creating mazes of dark and crooked pathways. From the tops of random structures rise towers, each one crowned with a unique face screaming its personal agony. The passage of time has covered many of the strange pilings with a sickly green moss. From under the moss, carved faces replete with demonic hatred stare. In other depictions, seven-headed snakes and insect-headed dancers swirl together performing acts of both anger and love. It seems that if one were to stare too long one's psyche would succumb to paranoia and madness.

You cannot linger long. However, to move invites the random death that has claimed most of those who entered the city with you. Worse, to remain is to become prey for the forms that have skirted your awareness since you entered the city. To survive, you will need to fight as demons.

I am using “Plum" as my color, because it makes me feel fuzzy, so those wanting to sign up for this game should use "Plum" as well. I looked and it does not appear that anyone is using "Plum" yet, if I'm wrong let me know.

Dexter Ward: I see that you're in Herndon. My bi-weekly D&D game in Chantilly is looking for players. www.theeurth.com.
I would like to but, I run my own game with 4 (soon to be 5) players every Saturday night. During the week I usually don't get home until 8:00 pm or so. That doesn't leave a lot of extra time to play in another game. What days and times do you meet? Do you game at the Game Parlor?

Edit: I took a look at your web site. Nice. I have been meaning to do something similar for a long time, but just can't seem to find the time.

TGC also has their six DM spaces, and I'm currently in the process of filling them. At the moment why don't we assume that there will be two spaces for Axis & Allies, and my own game?

Yeah, I'll run one.

For the sake of being different, I shall go with Magenta.

Hey, DRM -- actually, it's not that different. That's what I picked as a color last week:
