MnM3 Centropolis (Re-bot)

Concepts- round 1

Here we go with the first batch of possible concepts. You probably all know the drill by now- I'm going to put up my current crop of ideas for a possible character. If you see anything that looks interesting, let me know (and, as always, if you see anything you really DON'T like, let me know that too)- either here or by PM. Putting the ideas out there in a concrete form helps me with my chronic indecision- so feel free to ignore, if you wish.

At this point, one of these ideas was going to be my back-up, and two are conversions from dead games over on the M&M board. The others are new (-ish). Ideas are posted in no particular order.

1. [sblock= Burn]
-Maria Ramirez is a California girl by birth- she came to Centroplis for college, and stayed on after graduation. She is still pretty young, and she had been thinking about moving home, but she wanted to get some decent job experience in as an accountant first. Then the Silver Storm happened, and her life was changed for ever. Quiet and studious by nature, her new-found powers have changed her deeply...
-"Burn" is wreathed in a persistent aura of swirling fire. In addition to generating both light and heat, she can fly and create powerful blasts- and her sustained touch can melt through almost anything. A year after the incident, she has learned a few tricks- including ways to use her powers in a non-destructive (and more importantly, non-lethal) fashion.
-Fairly basic fire-based blaster type.

2. [sblock= Jenny Serengeti]
-Jenny looks like an anime cat girl- though in her case, she is more cat than girl; she appears to be in her mid-teens. While she claims to be a Stormer she is, in fact, an escaped chimera from the Fleshworks labs. She is a VERY successful creation, but her good heart and positive attitude have set her on a different path from many of her fellow escapees in the so-called Feral Underground.
-Jenny is gifted with a number of feline abilities (sensing and movement, mostly), and is a very gifted combatant.
-Animalistic martial artist/warrior type, but peppy and positive instead of grim and serious...

3. [sblock= Warp]
-Another hero who claims to be a product of the Silver Storm, Warp is actually a half-breed (half human, and half a traveler from another dimension). She originally had little interest in using her powers as a hero, but a series of encounters with local criminals (and with the so-called New Centurions) has changed her mind. While she wants to do good, her superhero career is also a way to learn about her powers (and indirectly, about her mysterious heritage).
-Warp is a powerful teleporter- she can teleport herself, or people/things that she touches, with exceptional accuracy. She can also open small dimensional rifts that unleash dangerous elemental energies.
-Teleport-based movement and some blasting.

4. [sblock= Charger]
-AJ O'Malley was a (mostly) normal high school girl until she was caught in the Silver Storm. A country girl at heart, and a competitive tomboy, she has loved her powers from the first day. It took a while for her to really learn about her new abilities, and the criminal underworld was kind of scary and confusing- her first attempts at "being a hero" were hardly rousing successes. But she has stepped up her game recently- if only she could get her grades up as easily...
-Charger is enveloped in a silvery "suit" that looks like the liquid metal Terminator- the suit is made up of bound nanites that absorb and direct kinetic energy. Encased in her suit, she can fly and has incredible strength and durability- and the flexibility of the suit's outer layer gives her a few interesting tricks...
-Fairly basic paragon/battlesuit character- not quite a rookie, but not actually a full-time hero yet.
[/sblock]

5. [sblock= Whisper]
-Whisper was never quite normal. She heard voices in her head from an early age, and sometimes very strange things happened around her (RSPK phenomena, precognitive flashes, and worse). She spent some time in the Meadows Manor Home for Disturbed Children, and in other facilities- but she pulled together enough to graduate from high school and start college. Based on a hunch, she WASN"T downtown when the Silver Storm happened- but her own abilities seemed to grow rapidly at about the same time. She has been working on developing her powers, and has begun a bit of minor hero-type activity- and she has taken the public tour of the Centurions HQ more than once. But is she ready for the big time?
-Whisper is a low level empath and precog, who is trying to become a Batman-esque detective (Substituting her psychic gifts for Batman's genius).
-Low level psychic/detective type (more of ultra high skills and talents than actual mental powers). Not sure yet if she uses powers for offense (Emotional paralysis? mental blast?) or tech ('borrowed' weaponry from a high tech lab- or a tech-based criminal who wants their toys back).

All sound good to me... If I had to say what might be preferred, hmm the team is a bit short of Science/Technology type knowledge (Kitsune has some) and several could fit that roll. No one has much Psionics type powers (again Kitsune has some illusion)... but then moving the team around quickly (teleport) could be useful in some situations...

If you have not joined the Centurions of course :) I have a way to bring in new players depending but it depends on a few things
Well, I don't see her initially being interested in being in a group. I figured he might change his mind after getting caught up in a few adventures. He does not want to spend lots of time (especially stuff like monitor duty or worse: socializing between missions) in his hero id but he also wants to be a hero.

Technically Kitsune's powers are 'psychic,' but they're all physical psionics...control of electromagnetic radiation and to some extent fields. Her illusions are constructs of light and sound, not mental.

So plenty of room for an actual mentalist.

Teleportation, as noted, has a lot of utility for a group. And also as noted, Kitsune's the only one with significant tech-savvy...and even then it's pretty limited so that's definitely something we could use.

Honestly any of those ideas could work. Even the ones that cover mechanical concepts already represented (the blaster and martial artist) have fun enough concepts that they'd still be great. :)

Okay, rejiggered my Equipment. Dropped 1 Equipment advantage to give me fifteen points. Bought: Taser, comlink, restraints, mini-tracer, and Costume Protection 2.

Took 2 points (4 ranks) out of Skills (Taser) and put it into Ranged Attack 2.

That gave me back 1cp, which I put into Parry.

This gives me maxed out Attack/Effect for melee and maxed out Parry/Toughness.

Yar, and it gives you some situational flexibility. You can grab someone's dropped weapon, or throw things, or find lots of ways to use it.
