Monster Manual 2

No one wants another ixitachitl, yochlol, vargouille or ustilagor*. :)

Actually there is a mythology book I have seen (forget the name at the moment) that says the vargouille is a form of penanggalan. Go figure. :)

Bah, TOH

Your ToH reprints the Crypt Thing which is in Dungeon Magazine already.

As for monster manual II, Regdar was pleased with some of the monsters, and not so pleased with others. There are some really interesting monsters inside, and not as many reprints as some may like.

Others, well to Regdar's eyes they are beyond stupid.

More high level ones, then low level.

Thanks Redgar! A little something is better than nothing.

I hope there are lots of weird monsters but not too many new weird monsters made up to justify funky body shapes (tojanida, anyone? Now there's a monster we probably won't see in 4e...)

Bah, Disney is Evil

Monster Manual 2 does have chainmail monsters, like the fell drakes and such, and consists of mostly new monsters, some reprints from other sources (even current 3E WoTC sources). There are new animals of course.

Fiend Folio is similiar, and has a return of a few favorites of people on this board, not necessarily Regdars favorites.

I'm sorry I found this very funny (remeber I'm laughing towards you not at you! ;) ). Its like saying there was a monster called the uyyxjr@go that was based on the monster txyraetdh. That's basically what both those names mean to me. In the Creature Collection 2 they had some great monster names like the Blood Kraken or the Wickerman (scared the heck out of my players with that one!). I'd love to see more names like that!

Chainmail monsters in MM2?

Anyone know is the gallows gaunt will be in MM2. I love the idea of an undead created from hung criminal and the gallows that hung him.

Yeppers- but that version isn't official (just like the version of Orcus that was in there is not official either). I talked to the guys at WotC about that.
