Hey guys! :)

Sorry for not showing up lately, had to work a few days there but now I am off for eight in a row... ;)

Apostasy, via the way it is written, only grants a defensive effect. If anything checks for alignment, you are immune if you have apostasy. (IE Detect evil won't detect you even if you were evil, and a Word of Chaos spell won't harm a lawful deity with this power) It does not change you alignment. You still are your original alignment, technically. You use your 'real' alignment for determining class features.

At least I think thats how it is intended to work.

Correct. Apostasy (and Slipstream) are purely defensive in nature.

I was under the impression that Apostasy freed you from all alignment-based restrictions. That is, a Lawful Evil god would still register to detect law and detect evil spells (and not detect good), but would still be able to take levels in Paladin, for example.

Howdy Alzrius! :)

The Lawful Evil God would no longer be Lawful Evil, it would be of no alignment, or more accurately transcend alignment. Its debateable whether or not it could take Paladin Levels and cast Holy Spells though. I'd probably allow it.

Would they retain their alignment subtypes and be treated as those alignments when it is beneficial? Or would they be treated as whatever alignment is most beneficial at all times?

Hey dante! :)

They don't gain anything beneficial, nor do they don't retain alignment subtypes.

U_K, any comment on my previous question?

U_K, I don't know if someone brought this up before, but I wanted to mention this to you.

If a character with the Equilibrium transcendental ability (all of your ability scores equal your highest ability score) later gained the Infinite [Ability Score] omnific ability, would that mean that all of his ability scores are then considered to be infinite?

Also, on second inspection, shouldn't the latter omnific ability have a line mentioning that it can be taken more than once, but each time it's taken it must be applied to a different ability score?

*Dante's brain grinds to a halt at the illogical glory of it all*

- Don't you mean...they do not retain alignment subtypes?

As written it hurts my head to look at it.

Nor do they dont? WTF...ROTFLMFAO!!! It's a classic!!!

We have Krusty, Super Krusty, and now...the new BIZARRO KRUSTY!!!

Does this lack of subtype prevent them from taking classes or abilities that are alignment-based? What if...you are a demon...and you gain...Apostasy? Do you suddenly stop being a demon? Some things specifically require alignment and alignment subtypes...or do these things no longer apply so such creatures. Can a being with Apostasy have...for example...both the Angel subtype and the Daemon subtype? As could be the case with half-breeds. Or is apostasy intended only for neutral beings?
