NG vs. NE: Neutral Evil is Victorious!

You might be correct, Greybar. Grace tried a save or disappear effect, and failed. She should have played for the chicken draw.

Gansk, should I trot out the next Neutral Evil creature before you come home? The chances of Grace surviving are extremely (what expresses the point more strongly than extremely?) small.

Round 362: Something croaks.

Aegorus:[sblock]You can breathe again next round.[/sblock]

Next for NE in round 362: a spectral lurker. (FF?)

OOC: In the articles section of the Wizards' D&D website, there is a new monster index in the consolidated lists section. Yes, the FF is correct.

A spectral, huge ovoid with two long tentacles, two long eyestalks, and a gaping maw appears at 95N65E and tries to grapple Aegorus.

Aegorus takes an AoO, but his bite passes through the ovoid.

The ovoid is shaken by the attack (21 Will save).

The ovoid touches Aegorus, but does not hang on (37 vs. 53 Grp check).

Aegorus heals to 428 hp and starts round 363.

Aegorus:[sblock]You know nothing about this creature.[/sblock]

Aegorus briefly considers a hit-and-run approach to the beast, but then decides for a more old-fashioned tactic: Full Attack with Power Attack +10.

This one's too cute for Greybar not to see. From Something's sblock:

"You don't dodge (16 Ref save) and take 90 sonic damage. You survive the massive damage and have 14 hp left. You are shaken (27 Will save)."

Shaken? Really?

I was a surprised that Something survived the massive damage. Somethings are not the most sturdy of creatures. I believe that one of Something's white cousin died from massive damage in TBoAA.

How does time compression sound to you, Greybar?

Sure. If Aegorus ever has more than two attacks get through the incorporeality (assuming that's what it is) but not penetrate armor, he'll scale back the PA by 4 for the next round. If all attacks that get through spectral penetrate armor, he'll scale up the PA by 4 for the next round.
