OK...possible spoiler etiquette breach on my part, but this is just too good for Greybar not to see it.

Should I time compress your wind, or do you want to make like yourself and leave?

The tree is out of phantasmal killers, so, for the sake of brevity (and saving myself a whole lot of mostly useless die rolls), the tree will exit.

First in round 166 for Neutral Evil is something that is probably not a tree, although it might be as useless as one. It is an aspect of Nerull (Miniatures Handbook). I will need an E-mail on this one, as will Infiniti and anyone else wanting to run Neutral Evil.

Throwing another monster under the bus

A gaunt, 12 foot tall creature that resembles a mummified human corpse with rusty red skin, thick greenish-black hair, a cowled black cloak, and eyes, teeth, and nails like poisonous verdigris, joins the fray. No, it's not Dirk Nowitzski, but it sure does look like him. We'll call him Dirk anyway. Dirk wields a mighty scythe in his hands and waves it futilely up in the air after he enters the arena. In fact, the futile motion resembles what Dirk looks like when he tries to guard Shaq, but without the weapon of course. Or, with the weapon, it wouldn't help in either case.

Dirk summarily leaves the arena in shame*, despite Gansk's admirable effort in typing up all of his useless stats.

* Assuming Jurathor isn't coming down to play and there's no lock in the arena to Open.

OOC: I thought I remember Phantasmal Killer at will, sorry. I guess it was more pathetic than I remembered. :(

Fortunately for all concerned, Dirk made his Fortitude save and was able to get through the wind and exit. It will be a long time before any of us forget how useless aspects are. Sorry you had to waste your time, Gansk.

First in round 166 for Neutral Evil is a julajimus (Monster Manual II).

Note that since the Aspect came in on 166, the Julajimus should be in 167?
I mean, even with the immediate departure, Jurathor gets at least one move, right?
(says the breath weapon recharge guy)

That said, I'm all for compression, and Jurathor can be considered hanging in space at 55n80e50z or something under NE finds an opponent that can fly, is invulnerable to sonics, or has a good range attack.

New combatants always enter in the same round, immediately after the previous combatant is defeated, but maybe there should be an exception when two combatants in a row are defeated without their opponent having an action. What do you think, Gansk?

OOC: That's interesting and I guess right by the current rules - I guess I still mentally chafe a bit at the logic of the combatant time-warping in and one side getting 12 seconds of actions while the opposing side gets 6 seconds of action. However, I don't think it's too big a deal since there are only limited opportunities for the combatant to do anything. If Jurathor was on the ground, an opponent with Spring Attack could enter, attack, and leave all in one action - but I can't really argue that would be a bad thing for NG - it wouldn't lose anything by not having to really fight it out. And since neither side knows the order of combatants, it's not like you could use a 1-2 punch approach to set up the second-entering combatant.

NE certainly didn't get 12 seconds of actions. They entered and then left. A better rule would be to just allow them not enter and go to the next monster.

Or better yet, put all of the monsters in initiative. It's just the ones not in the arena, and not able to enter the arena, do not act. It's not about 12-seconds of inaction, it's about simultaneity.
