Ohio GameDay IV planning

It's a great spot too. And it did bomb since our gaming group were the only ones there. We had A LOT of snacks and soda to ourselves though. And remember dshai the rooms were empty except for all the shelves and tabels and chairs and stuff.(right Enk?) ;)

Hook line and sinker. I get credit for the assist Fett.

Sorry guys inside joke...you had to be there! At the gameday III. And you weren't

It would be cool if Buttercup could make it though.

I can't guarantee to make it whether its in Columbus, Dayton, Akron or anywhere in Ohio (though I would try), but I think if a spot in Columbus could be found it might work the best for the most amount of people. It is a reasonable distance from most anywhere in the state and shouldn't alienate anyone.

I agree with this 100%. Dayton was not well attended partly because it wasn't in Columbus (though I have the sneaking suspiscion that this would not be the case this time around if Dayton hosted another one).

Well if someone in Columbus is willing to get a venue then have at it. I think Columbus is the best location, but someone (except Crothian, he's done enough for the other gamedays) will have to step up.

If not, we have a great concentration of ENWorlders in Dayton and we can get a venue through Enk.

Dayton was not well attended by me because I got sick, as I recall. Bleh. I had been planning on making it out there.

Bookery is the place I was thinking of with the basement. I have a pretty tight 'in' with those guys. The guys at Wexford, however, well . . . keeping the 'Eric's Grandma's Rule' alive, let's leave it at I don't quite care for them.

Don't worry we took it personally and that's why you didn't get a christmas card from us last year. :D

It wasn't scurvy was it?

BaldHero, when you see this again, can you change the thread title to something along the lines of "Ohio Gameday IV planning thread"? Might get some more attention that way.

Glad to see we are getting some progress here. I also think Columbus would be central, so my questions below will focus on that area. I will travel to support this if it is in another city and provided it is on a date I can make.

A few questions for the Dayton Crew.

Where was the venue? Did it cost anything? If so, did you charge a fee at the door?

What time was the event for? Would you have games running all day? Did it start early in the morning? Run late?

Questions for all.

If we can get a venue, and it isn't free, would you be willing to throw out some money? Nothing huge, in fact no more that let's say 10 bucks.

If it is in Columbus, are we talking about on a saturday?

What kind of games would you like to see? I am envisioning D&D, maybe a couple of RPGA events, maybe a minis tournament, and various other games. What do you all think?

Questions for Buttercup.

Could you do Columbus? It is only about 45 minutes east of Dayton? Would you be willing to drive to Dayton and perhaps carpool with some guys from Dayton if it was in Columbus?

Keep the thread going, and I will look around for a venue.

The location was a deposit fee if I recall correctly so no biggie. There was no charge for any of the Gamedays except for your own food and snacks (except when we got the free Burrito coupons...yah!).

Gaming lasted all day starting around 10am and ending about 10pm...maybe later I am kinda hazy on anything after 8 or so when my caffine wore out.

It was open to many games and not just 3.0. I think there was Modern, mutantsa and Master minds, Paranoia and other stuff as well as board games and card games.

The games were in 4 hour blocks with about 6-10 per table. Usually four games ran at a time in the mornings and fewer as the night progressed. With one large game ending the night I think for GameDay1.

All were welcome and fun was in abundance. There were door prizes thanks to gracious donors and sponsors. It was a great time. I think I need to say thank you to Crothian again just for the memories I have from those days.

Edit: HINT HINT Crothian - I want to play the Half-orc Bard again if you can stomach it one more time. :D

And as long as I get that one game in as a player I will gladly DM as many as needed for the rest of the day.
