OK, here is the official I gave up on this series thread!

Is it the American version of The Office you guys are talking about or the original English one. The English one is sitting on top of my dvd player waiting to be watched. Got both the first and second series on dvd for under $40 Australian the other day :D :D

Finally decide to drop E/R, should have done so years ago. What a waste of talent.

Gave up on Smallville two years back; saw an episode recently, it was awful.

Am still following West Wing but think that Commander in Chief will soon replace it. Didn't like the pilot of C-i-C, too much predictable setup and I never cared for Gina Davis, but found last week's episode to be very well written and fun to watch.

I've enjoyed My Name is Earl thus far. Have given up on The Office, at least the American version.

But favorite these days is Sci-Fi Channel's reairing of Firefly, as I never caught the show the first time around.

Lets see

Bones - gack
BSG - I gave it a season and a half - no redeeming characters.
Commander in Chief - gack
CSI - opposite Nightstalker, it loses, can catch reruns later if nothing better to do.
Desparate Houswives - tried watching it again this season - still don't like it
Ghost Whisperer - Uninteresting
House - Got old and opposite My Name is Earl.
Invasion - Uninteresting
Law & Order - All of them (actually, never watched more than a few eps of any but the original cause all the rest have actors I can't stand - and now the original doesn't have anyone left that I like)
Lost - Suffers from x-files syndrome
Prison Break - Didn't like premise
Threshold - Uninteresting

and no, I don't watch this much each week, I tape and watch when time permits - since I don't have much time most series don't get a lot of episodes to catch me.

You know, I haven't watched any series on broadcast TV regularly in ages, and none of the new shows have tempted me to go back.

I typically watch either whatever is on the History Channel, one of the good Cartoon Network shows, and Sci-Fi's Friday night shows. If none of those pan out, well, that's when the PS/2 comes on.

I'm not a series person either. The last series I watched religiously was X-Files until around '99 and I stopped caring for some reason. Some day I'd like them all on DVD--when I win the lottery. Up until last season, I watched CSI frequently, I'd say 75-80% of Thursday night episodes. Now I don't care.

I live for re-runs of my fav shows, repeats of Seinfeld, Simpsons, Duckman and Dilbert (the last 2 are on Comedy Central sometimes on Sunday morning) or a special on TLC, Discovery,National Geographic, or History Channel that's not about home design/decorating, fashion, WWII, Kennedy, or Adolf Hilter; it's like an intravenous drug. :uhoh:

I'm only really watching Lost and Invasion this season. So far they're managing to hold my interest, Lost especially. Invasion looks to have promise too.

Now that would be a good show. But Henry would have to move to Miami.

I think....

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go rescue some woman in distress...

Hi-yo, Silver, away!......

I've given up on MTV (are they ever going to play videos again?). I gave up on the WB after the cancelled Angel. They've cancelled Just Legal after only three episodes. Sp why are we getting a FOURTH season of What I Like About You? By the way, Bones is no Angel.

I stopped watching Desparate Housewives when Family Guy came back on. I've been watching it during the baseball playoofs, but if subsequent episodes are as dull as this week's I won't be sticking around. I'm still watching Gray's Anatomy.

Its easier to discuss what I do watch. Most of our time is spent on the Discovery networks, Biography Channel (The block of Poirot/Midsommer/Sherlock Holmes), History Channel, National Geographic, and Court TV.

Series we make a point to DVR all new episodes of are Stargate Atlantis (Not SG1 since the first time Daniel Jackson ascended), Ghost Hunters, Two and a Half Men, Law & Order and SVU (No CI), and JLU, and the Court TV series of forensics and investiagtion (Dr. G, Dr. Henry Lee, the Dale Hinman series). We were giving How I Met Your Mother and Out Of Practice a trial, but HIMYM is going south fast and OOP chose to insult everyone on this board last night, so...

We tried the various new SF/Paranormal shows, but they're all a little gritty and dark for our tastes. We're Trek TOS/TNG and Original Galactica fans. This new stuff is just boring us.
