D&D 5E (OOC) Vault of the Dracolich 5E (Full)

[MENTION=6855204]tglassy[/MENTION] We're starting a fight in River Gang, and I can't find my note... Aquaria is down 14 HP, right? She was down 25 and got healed by Kurzon for 11?

The Troglodyte fight is harder than I expected so Sesto will not hold back on the spells. First I wanted Sesto to wait so that he had spells for later (and possibly tougher) fights but he has to worry about that later.
This round, Sesto will either (i) cast Bless (action) again or (ii) cast Spiritual weapon (bonus action) and Sacred Flame (action). What would you prefer?
His initiative is 5, just before the trogs, so everyone else will go before him and not have use of Bless in this round. :.-(
I'd say get that weapon into the fight. Hopefully this snake will go down soon.

Squirrels are evil!

No, Aquaria got fully healed. She was down 25, then got healed for 15, then another 10 later. Both Genasi Sisters are at full health right now. Not much in the way of Psi points, but full HP.

I seem to have jumped the gun on Mord's latest post. Feel free to pause it, or if needed I can delete it's contents.

Squirrels are evil!

No, that's fine, I just missed that it was there. It's perfect actually.

BTW, give me an Athletics for Bob, though I doubt he could fail to climb the wall. That's one dead snake.

The Dispensables

Sesto will attempt to climb out of the pit. Will he need to remove his shield or can he try with climbing while still wielding it? (he got the War Caster feat which grants him being able to use somatic component while wearing shield - can he also climb with shield? Long shot, I know.)
Heavy armour? Disadvantage on Str(athletic) check or normal? [-]Is Str(athletic) check even required?[/-]
How high is it? 20 feet? He can't quite make it up in one round, can he? (speed = 30 feet)
Unless he takes the Dash action, of course.

what is the medieval treatment for kurzon's hernia! :p
We can read from the following article on page 303:
HISTORY OF INGUINAL HERNIA REPAIR by R. Van Hee in Jurnalul de Chirurgie, Iaşi, 2011, Vol. 7, Nr. 3, pp 301-319 [ISSN 1584 – 9341]
Guy de Chauliac (1298-1368) [did] borrow extensively from Albucasis’ textbook. For inguinal hernia he proposes six different treatments:
1. After skin incision, the hernia sac is transfixed and the distal spermatic cord with the testicle is amputated (method of Galen).
2. Cauterisation of the external swelling with the red hot iron (method of Albucasis).
3. Scar formation by using a ‘cauterium potentiale’, a plaster with escharotic capacity, as for instance arsenic (method of Theodoric of Cervia [1205-1298]).
4. Applying a transcutaneous suture around the spermatic cord, and tying it on an
external wooden slat, until the cord becomes sectioned (method of Roger of
Salerno [late 12th century]).
5. Incising the suprapubic area and introducing a hot iron cauter directly on the
spermatic cord (method of Lanfranchi of Milan [?-1315]).
6. After incision, applying a golden thread around the spermatic cord, to tie it just
enough to ensure closure of the hernia sac (method of Guy de Chauliac).

Obviously, Kurzon better rely on traditional "Greater Restoration" rather than the medieval treatments.

I wouldn't rule disadvantage for climbing in heavy armour, but I would for climbing with a shield. Climbing is generally a two-hand job. If all you had to do was 10 feet, I think you could pull yourself up with one hand and then throw your shield arm over the top, though.

Speaking of which...

In Bob's case, I will assume he hooked his hammer on his belt, ran and jumped as high as he could, burried his axe in the wall, and climbed with his other hand until he could hook his axe over the top.

I will use that in the description...

I generally appreciate it (possibly reward it!) when people remember things like what's in their hands when they go to do something!

As far as Sesto goes, 9 would not be enough to climb out, but I would rule stuck rather than fall. You should roll a second check (Your "dash" climb) with disadvantage for us to determine how high you are.

Good news is, you can cast spiritual weapon before you climb, and you can see a target while hanging on the side.

Which side are you climbing up? I assume Bob went forward...
