In Eberron I toyed with the idea of making flumphs the result of goblin wizards trying to master the fleshwarping of the daelkyr. When the Goblin Wars were over and the Dhaakani Empire fell, the flumphs kept up the fight, crusading against the aberrations itermittently throughout the ages.
