[OT] I got into law school!

That's a great feeling, isn't it? Congratulations.

I first checked this thread to see if another EN Worlder would be starting with me at Cardozo. No suck luck I guess ..

Again, congrats!

Congrats Enforcer!

I'm finishing up next month myself :)

The three years flies by, and you'll probably spend the majority of it looking for good internships and lining up possible job opportunities. ;)

I had a scholarship to Cardozo, but there was no way I could swing the cost of living--married and paying rent in Greenwich Village...Oy!!

Congrats!!!

I'm finishing up next month also. The best advice I can give you is that like everything else, you get out of it what you put into it. Law school pushed me to stress levels I never knew existed. It also taught me to really appreciate free-time. But in the end I realize it has been the most rewarding experience in my life so far. Good luck! By the way, I'm extra-pumped, besides being a month away from graduating, I just found out that my supervised research project is going to get published!

Congrats! MOOLAH 4 U!

So... are you going to be a bloodthirsty vampiric prosecutor or cold-hearted rapist defender?

I'd say study to be a judge, there's less universal hatred towards judges.:D

You should try being married and paying rent in the Financial District! Double-Oy!

Hehe, if one of the schools handed out Lawgiver pistols, that'd be the school for me!

Cardozo's a quality school. Getting a scholarship from them is quite impressive (at least it impresses me). I'm hoping to get a scholarship to John Marshall, and given my roommate's luck with law schools, that seems pretty likely (he was wait-listed at DePaul, but got an $8k/year scholarship from John Marshall). Then again, U of I would be pretty cheap to begin with, and it's the best school I applied to. Though, I'd prefer to live in Chicago to be with my girlfriend (who'll be at the University of Chicago med school). Still, the mighty dollar will probably be the biggest decision criteria I'll have.

Congrats!! Now make sure you actually enroll and attend. I gained admission to several law schools after graduating from college...and then let life sidetrack me.

Good luck, and do well in your chosen pursuits.

Me too! I wish they liked me as much as they apparently liked Thorvald Kviksverd!

I was offered a $14K scholarship to Seton Hall, but I decided to go with Cardozo. It's going to cost a lot more, but I think it's a much better school that Seton Hall. Cardozo shares a lot of its teachers with Columbia and NYU, and I think it will offer me a much better education than Seton Hall.

I guess what I am saying is that while I don't know anything about the schools you applied to (I only looked at New York and D.C.), I suggest you just go to the best damn school you get into. The lawyers at my wife's firm (and they're one of the firms here in NYC) concur. Just get the best education you can, it will pay for itself a dozen times over.

Good luck wherever you go.
