Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Hayden Christiansen nominated for an academy award for his role in "Life as a House"? Not that the academy is any indication of acting talent...

BTW, please forward me a copy of the script. I'd like to see how bad it is. To date, the only substantial info I've seen has come from Ain't-It-Cool news and that was far from a complete script.

Tom

Yep. Well it was a Golden Globe, and I think it is an indication of acting talent. Thus we have actors with talent (Hayden & Natalie), which looks pretty bad from the trailer. So what we left is a bad script and/or bad direction. At least far as far as the romance depicted in the trailer goes.

Sure I'm not expecting oscar gold scripting, but I'd rather sit through the Titanic romance if the trailer is a true indication of it's quality.

Thus, I'll definitely be waiting for reviews from people I know.

After having seen the trailer, I was wondering...where are all the clones?

I wondered about that too.

I'll probably wait till it comes out on video. That's what I did for Ep I, and I don't feel like I missed out on anything.

Tape beats theatrical release in 3 ways:

  1. You can hit 'Pause' before shouting obscenities at the screen.
  2. You can fast forward past the cartoonish characters and wooden acting---so you can watch the entire film in under 15 minutes!
  3. Vague sense of satisfaction when set fire to the tape in your hibachi.

Okay, I feel like I'm pissing into the wind here, but I have to try...

The love story in Ep II, from what I've read in script reviews, is an important part of the story but by no means an overwhelming part of it.

Jar-jar has only about 15 minutes of screen time.

Again acording to the script review, this movie captures the sense of adventure that Episode I completely lacked.

The "romantic" trailer was one of three Ep II trailers that have been released. Why judge only by the last one? The other two were far more action-oriented.

And as far as dialog is concerned, show me someone who thinks the original trilogy had good dialog, and I'll show you someone who lacks a solid grasp on the English language. :D

Seriously, folks, Ep I was a let-down, I know. I thought so too. But it is possible that Lucas learned from his mistakes. Most of what I've seen, and everything I've heard (leaving aside the whole In Sync mess) leads me to believe that he may have done just that.

I guess that must be me. I'd better give up teaching English right now. Just to be sure, I might want to sever my vocal cords and snip off my fingers. I wouldn't want to accidentally communicate.

Seriously, I think that all of Yoda's lines were great...marvelous...classic. Of course, he himself didn't have a great grasp of word order, but that's part of what makes his lines so memorable. Vadar also had some great lines ("Apology accepted.") You can't reasonably argue that all the dialogue in the Original Trilogy was bad.

Conversely, what has Episode I given us? "Yippee"?

Ok I loved the original Star Wars... so lets proceed destroying Episode II...

Episode I Trailers were Great !! The movie was slow and a tad boring... so if Episode II trailer is boring I can only imagine how bad it will get... hehe... and we thought jar jar binks was the worse possible...

If they cant get a trailer to be interesting imagine a whole film....

... And I am also one of the few people on the planet that liked TPM. Oh god, please don't kill me for that comment. ...
I'm with you on this one, Daniel. In case worse comes to worst, we'll just fight together against the overwhelming odds, ok? :)
