OOC: Plural: a behemoth of quaggoths quaggi?


Solace bolted away from the quaggoth cell, leaving the creatures to free themselves from the already broken-down iron cell bars. She darted past Brinn across the rope bridge and inside the stalactite, spied the rope ladder, and quickly scaled it to the upper story. There, she found Kamael holding her pack, a host of armor and weaponry, three opened chests fashioned of queer grey wood, Jimjar, Shuushar, and Kago the Orc. The latter was hastily donning armor, his face was streaked with bloody finger painting.

The behemoth of quaggi pressed against the broken cell bars and ripped their way free. Quaggoth 3--the creature that had been in the lead--was swept away in the fervor and fell off the ledge as its kin pressed past. The remainder of the behemoth ran at full speed down the ledge and began passing through the stalactite. Brinn and Stool were up the ladder and inside the trapdoor seconds before the herd came through the lower level. The stalactite rumbled and shook as if besieged by an earthquake. Bits of clay and mineral fell from the armory ceiling.

Raza felt more than saw the stampede of quaggi. First the stalactite then the rope bridge began to shudder and shake.

OOC: Raza's turn, [MENTION=40413]GlassEye[/MENTION]. The lead creature in the approaching behemoth of quaggi finishes its movement in U20. Directly behind His Highness.

Raza hadn't intended to terrify Buppido but perhaps it would work to his advantage and get him out of the path of the quaggoth. If not, then that was as the Mother Night willed it. Raza scurried past the derro along the bridge and as soon as she reached stone she went over the edge to hang from the wall until the danger was past. She remains utterly still as the deranged quaggoth storm by.

Raza clung to the wall and waited for the behemoth of quaggi to pass by.

OOC: Kamael's up, [MENTION=33284]Yavathol[/MENTION]! I'll do a map update containing everyone's new position at the bottom of the round.
 

Kamael sighed with relief when he saw Solace, and passed her backpack over.
"Put armor on if you like, but for the next few hours this may be more effective.."

Merging with the Weave, he used the wand he had just retrieved to form a spell of protection, then swiftly split his attention to include Solace also.

"Brinn, i can cast a light spell for you, one moment...
Everyone, I am missing a valuable diamond necessary for one of my best spells. Hopefully it is in the next stalactite, I would be grateful to anyone who finds it!"

OOC: *Nods emphatically* Most definitely yes. The rest can wait on Kago. Or not. It's whatever.. Right now, I think he just might be looking at the giant mushroom and thinking lunch! ;)

End of Round 6

Kamael held aloft his arcane focus and felt the pleasure of his magic surge through his blood. His protective spell twinned, blossoming to cover both himself and Solace. Shuushar tried a shield, discarded it, then started putting on studded leather armor. The effect was ridiculous; his gut, such as it was after long days of confinement and thin mushroom gruel--loped in a low arc beneath the bottom of the armor's breast piece. The kuo-toa smiled privately, as if enjoying a joke, but left the armor in place. He picked up then put down a dagger, then fiddled with the straps of the armor, trying to get the buckles and snaps to fasten. The weapon seemed foreign in his hands. Stool did nothing other than hunker beside Brinn. Jimjar wasted no time. The deep gnome kitted himself with a shield, a shortsword, a dagger, a hand crossbow, and two bolt cases. He found his own gear in the pile of packs, then started shrugging his way into studded leather.

Buppido climbed into the basket. Derendil, who'd spotted something, darted forward and around the corner of the stalactite to which Raza the Centipede clung. His Highness made it to the winch, eyed the mechanism, and reached to begin cranking.


OOC: It's a full 5 minutes to don the chain shirt for Kago. It'll take Shuushar and Jimjar 1 minute to don the studded leather armor. Kamael twin spelled mage armor on both himself and Solace, at a cost of 1 sorcery point. No ill effects from the wild surge. Kago's up to bat, [MENTION=23298]industrygothica[/MENTION]. If I think we can zip through some of the donning of the armor, I will...not sure what Raza, Brinn, Solace, and Kamael might want to do in the interim, however, so we'll finish out this round on init until I get a clearer picture of ya'll's intent.
