Liam moves over to examine the dead chief. The body is disgusting and dirtying his hands with such offal is a bit beneath him. If the idol is on its corpse though it might save him another trip farther into the tree. With a grimace he kneels to check more thoroughly. "Let's hope this creature has it..." he mutters to himself.

Unfortunately, you find nothing of value or that looks like a statue on the ugly grubby little body. Indeed none of the creatures seems to have another other than their small weapons and filthy poor quality armor and clothing. It is unlikely that any of it has enough value to justify gathering it and lugging back to civilization. The next room down is likely the chiefs' lair, so perhaps you'll have better luck there.

Rhote says, "Nothing here it seems. No statues anyway. Alright, let's check out the next lair." After saying so he leans on his quarterstaff and heads that way.

As she relaxes a bit and looks around at the fallen tick and mites, Pixie shivers involuntarily for a moment. She then threads her axes back into the loops on her belt and catches up to Rhote to go hunting for the statue in the next room.

Making your way down the slick low muddy tunnel you soon arrive at another chamber. Rows of wooden pegs line the earthen walls, some hung with tiny, filthy cloaks. In the center of the room stands a rickety table held together with twine, covered with a filthy red-checked tablecloth and heaped with mounds of dirt and twigs and gravel, apparently arranged to form some sort of map. Sitting at the edge of the map, weighing down a scrap of paper, is a bloodstained ivory statuette of what looks like a crouching reptilian devil. A bulging burlap sack sits under the table.

Pixie glances at the map on the table but her real interest, naturally, is the 'bulging burlap sack' . The guide bends over and braces herself with one hand on the low table as she reaches underneath to grab it. She then retreats a short distance to a reasonably open section of the chamber where she can expertly examine the contents.

Brandelleon looks over the map, trying to ascertain the area and purpose. There is possible intelligence value.
