I haven't seen that sort of increase from the local roaster where I get my coffee beans. Yet. I expect it'll hurt when they start having to cover new shipments and the tariffs thereon.Yeah. We mostly drink tea rather than coffee but get coffee on occasion. The price doubled since we bought coffee last. We’re moving completely to tea as a result.
While I stand by my position that everyone at a given table should take the game they're playing roughly equally seriously, I don't disagree with your point, here. There are some people out there in this hobby that are just plain joyless and gaming is SERIOUS BUSINESS.![]()
And then there's the Backhanded Apology, which is an insult phrased as an apology: "I'm sorry you are too stupid to understand my point," for example, or "I'm sorry you are so sensitive."
It's possible to sincerely apologize for, say, hurting someone's feelings, while also refusing to recant the core of what you said. This is a very narrow strait to navigate, without question.
And these are failures to navigate that strait I mentioned.
I think there are also people who go from thread to thread seeking confrontation and then carry that forward into other threads and interactions that should've been relatively benign. Sometimes it's just their problem.Yeah, under some circumstances its impossible to be critical of certain things without some people taking it personally. If you're critical of those things, the best you can do is say you did not intend insult, but if someone still insists on taking that personally, there's no functional way to be honest to your opinion about the topic and apologize in an entirely sincere way to a person who has taken it badly.
