Yeah man…I hear that. But sadly doing for the family really locks a person in.

My wife and I met young, married (especially these days) young, had our kid young, and he's out of the house (round 2) in 2 weeks.

My dog passed a few months ago, my work is remote (knock on wood!) and I'm just ready to go you know? Doom, gloom, politics, news, drama, all of what seems to be modern discourse? Burn it, garbage, 100%. If Mother Earth wont do the job, then I'll just remove myself from the mess instead and live out my days in near solitude.

Family can visit, and enjoy what I've built, and then they can go back to whatever they think matters and I'll keep my peace.

At least, thats the plan.

I live in the state of Oregon (part of the Pacific NW in the USA) and I am looking at places to land once I am no longer a slave to Capitalism. My goal is/was to move to the Oregon coast but the main concern is the state of rural healthcare (not that urban healthcare is doing great either post COVID). As soon as you get out of the city you run into staffing issues and if you need specialist care, well that is a long commute.

I will figure it out. I am pretty much done with people as well. Figure out the healthcare needed and then find a place that can support it is my next mission.

You have no idea how much I fantasize about having gray water irrigation when/if I can finally afford to own a home.
For grey water, check out the InfiltratorTM modular anaerobic wastewater/septic leach field system. It's a pretty slick alternative to the typical septic tank and lateral lines.

It's not ideal for all applications, but it'll work for a lot of places that septic won't.
