I mean, it's Fizban's but for Giants instead of Dragons. I love Fizban, so thst works for me.
I was a little disappointed with Fizban's, I expected more from it but was probably spoiled by the 3e dragon book. I don't think I've actually used anything out of it. I'm not sure the lore in the giant book is going to be any better than the giant lore in Volo's but I'll wait and see what reviews come out, maybe it'll give me some ideas for giants in my setting, but even then, I've moved on to my own version of giants.

They call Planescape a “box set” and I wish they called it something else because it’s just 3 books in a case. There are no cool maps and handouts etc
To be fair, I think that's this particular journalist and a lot of old grognards calling it a box set. The WotC description of Spelljammer, and what I recall of Planescape leaks, is a slip case containing 3 books, 1 map, and 1 DM screen. They never promised any boxes!

The Glory of Giants alternate cover looks horrendous, it reminds me of an old sun weathered doilie from my grandmother's house! This cover does not evoke adventure.

my only drawback was the giant book went spring 2023, to august 15th. Thinking way way back to my high school/college days, a book a month for some in that age category might not be able to buy everything they want. Of course my HS/college as in the 2e days and trying to keep up with that release schedule was a blessing and a curse, a lot of great boxed sets and books.

Why on earth would WotC set release dates for FIVE new D&D products over a span of just four months???

Two of which are deluxe sets at premium prices;

two of which are regular books in familiar formats, but with a notable price hike;

and one of which is an all-fluff book that retreads the same ground as a different book (that had crunch in it) released only two years ago.

This is a whole year’s worth of content crammed into one quarter.

That's what I was afraid of. It's not going to be Planescape, it's going to be Sigil and a very small portion of the planes. And I bet Sigil will receive the same few pages that The Rock of Bral got. I will not be bilked out of money for this one like I was for Spelljammer. I'll buy again when they produce an actual quality setting.
Quality settings haven't been produced since Eberron back in early 3e. What we need is a time machine, go back and never let WotC be bought out by Hasbro. Keep the OG game developers from quitting and being laid off, and then D&D today would be the D&D that was originally great and not the monetized, watered-down, minimalist garbage it is now.

That wasn't the original intent. Bigby's was originally scheduled to come out by now. Presumably they've had delays, or perhaps are holding things back to make sure they are as close to the 2024 core book rules as possible.
