Mage hand

Prestidigitation's 'clean' option

problem solved

If a magic RING is burried in poop, would that be considered an attended object? If so, Mage Hand won't work...

I dunno, I think that for this one would need a Bigby's Scrubbing Hand. :p

Or Bigby's Glove of Proctology if the critter ain't quite dead yet. (Okay Mr. Ancient Great Wyrm - cough!)

More seriously the hard bits might well end up in the gizzard to help digest the next few meals... A hammer of sundering would do wonders for a purple worm's digestion!

how do d.m.'s deal with critters with "swallow whole"?

I actually deal with it by re-writing "swallow hole" into "chew".

- because I think the way that people can "cut their way out of the stomach" without causing serious lasting harm (!) to the creature is just laughably stupid.

So IMC if you get bit by something with "swallow whole" listed it attempts the grapple check to hold you in its mouth and do automatic bite damage every round. A successful grapple escape can allow the PC to wriggle free.

This works out as still a pretty deadly ability, but it doesn't require any suspension of disbelief on the part of the players and I.

Cheers

my dog ate my original dice.

i recovered them. :o

i don't see why you can't recover metal objects from swallow whole creatures.

heck, owls can't digest bones and thus spit them out instead of pooping them.

But Crocs digest everything, their stomach acid is the most power stomach acid in the animal kingdom. Or so I've read somewhere, or saw on the Discovery channel.....
