D&D 5E Power Gamers Guide to Elemental Evil Players Companion

That really has no bearing on the fact that the stated purpose of this thread is to talk about the minmax/powergaming PoV and potential of the new material.

If that's not what an "Optimization" forum thread is, then I don't know what.

The stated purpose of this thread is to compare the new EEPC against the PHB. Which IMO, is perfectly inline with a forum that is meant to discuss 5e rules and products. YMMV, of course.

Dude. From the OP:
This thread however will be looking at the relative power level of the new options from a min/max or power gaming PoV. This is not so much to try and break the game but to see how the material stacks up with existing material.

There is nothing to argue about here.

I was soooo excited to see Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting, as it was one of my favorites in past editions. Then I read it and almost cried upon seeing how much it sucks. Fireball laughs at this spell. Sunburst, which is also 8th level, deals the same damage but also blinds creatures and affects an area that is several times larger. Sunburst also works on undead and constructs (horrid wilting doesn't), and very few things are resistant to radiant damage, unlike necrotic. Even circle of death is better than horrid wilting, and I don't consider that to be a very good spell...

Snilloc's Snowball Swarm is strictly inferior to shatter. It has half the radius, deals less damage, and cold is much more commonly resisted than thunder. Yikes. Ice knife, when cast at 2nd level, deals the same damage as snowball swarm to the same area, but also gets to inflict extra damage to the creature in the center. Just take that instead.

The good thing is, those are the only two spells that outright suck, at least that I noticed on my first read through. Most of the rest look pretty good. I love the new cantrips, especially control flames, gust, mold earth and shape water. Those look like a lot of fun.

So report it if you have a problem. Talking about it here doesn't do anything - the OP can't move it himself. Me, I think it's fine here.

For the record, I have no problem with the thread or content therein. Was just an organizational issue/question. Not the kind of thing I would consider "report" worthy/necessary.

But whatev's, Mistwell thinks it's fine. Carry on.

At least something good came of it: now I know there is a separate forum for discussing powergaming in 5E.

Aarakocra Rogue with grapple feat and expertise in Athletics: Fly in, grapple foe, fly up, punch foe, let go of foe (hopefully off a cliff).

I'd definitely be using the optional encumbrance with aarakocra, and with a fly of 50' I'd be doubling the penalty to move for that too. A 10 STR Aa Rogue could lift up to 150lb, but only 10' up in one move. Using Push, Drag, or Lift the Aa can do 150-300lb 5' per move.

Yeah, if you can't even use medium armor, it makes no sense you can fly the orc off the cliff
