Ring of the Fey Lord (DM:Atanatotatos, Judge:Lord Sessadore)Up:Lorik, etc.

"Your words speak do intrigue me, but I know of Aramil and although he may be careless, he is certainly not mad. This ring is important to me, its precious isn't it?" she asks, the ring on her finger flares for just a moment, barely perceptible "No, don't worry I won't let them take you" she whispers, barely audibly.

I was giving JNC some time to see Ironheart's reaction. Sorry, couldn't resist the Precious comment

ooc: I'm all for Plan B. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...

"You're mad if you think we're leaving without that ring," Haruka snarls. "Hand it over, or I'm taking it."

Haha, ok. Phasers charged and ready, o volatile, demon-worshiping cap'n.[/sblock]

So much for diplomacy, Ikni thinks wryly. Ah, well, perhaps its better this way. She loosens her sword in its scabbard, body tensed for violence.

"Oh dearie, I'm thinking that won't be happening, no...not today, not ever. That will be your last mistake" the old woman says.

Ikni's preperation pays off as she senses the woman's menace before the others. Ironheart, however, is distracted by the beauty of the glowing creatures above.

Rumbling slightly and then letting Haruka talk WAS Ironheart's reaction. I got them here, I'm protecting them, what they actually DO is up to them.

EDIT: oops, we've started.

Ironheart seems to wilt as Haruka makes her suicidal statement. He brings his axe up defensively but the move is sluggish - although he is in a perfect place to make the first swing, he seems hesitant to actually strike the woman.

Uh, I just realized something - from my knowledge, this IS the Lady of Nightmares, right?

Yes, all indications point to this being the hut, her demeanor, which is meant to put the unwary at ease, demonstrate this being the Lady

Hope you're feeling better. That sickness is going around. My whole family got it this week, so far i've been avoiding the worst of it...so far.

Ikni's sword is out of her scabbard in a flash, and she darts forward, heedless of the treacherous footing on the bridge. She leaps over Rhole, twists past Haruka, nearly falling, and from just behind Ironheart, she leaps away from the bridge and down into the bog, nearly making it to shore.

Minor: draw sword.
Move and standard: double run. 16 squares of movement would get me to Q13, I calculate. I'd like to get to R13 (or even R12, if it can be done without OAs). I'm hoping an athletics check will allow me to jump over some of the difficult terrain, only spending 1 square of movement to bypass it. Here's the check: 20. That should get me over a few squares, at least. I'll leave it up to you exactly where I got to.

Ikni's sword is out of her scabbard in a flash, and she darts forward, heedless of the treacherous footing on the bridge. She leaps over Rhole, twists past Haruka, nearly falling, when the swampy water beside her explodes in a shower of detritus and small humanoid swings a pair of unnaturally long arms at the swordmage. The sinewy arms wrap around Ikni and the hands contain many tiny "teeth" that tear her, the arms moving to encompass her and crush the wind from her.

The creature choking Ikni is a choker

A choker’s arms and legs contain multiple knobby joints of cartilage, which allow them to flex and coil almost like tentacles. Thus, a choker’s movements are rolling and fluid.

Monster 1 was hiding, OA has reach 2
vs ac;dmg (1d20 11=27, 1d8 3=10) Hits for 10 damage and your grabbed. Checks to escape are at -4.

The enemy is immobilized until it escapes or you end the grab

[sblock=OOC]
Ikni's at H12, immobilized

Note: Ikni still has a Standard left, so it's possible to try and escape the grab (Just don't forget the -4 to the roll)

Acrobatics or Athletics: Make an Acrobatics check vs. Reflex or an Athletics check vs. Fortitude against the creature or effect that immobilized you

Terrain: Anything not on the bridge or green areas (around Ikni/Derien) is difficult terrain. Bog and such.

I don't know the choker's position since there's no map update, but from your wording I take it that the attack was at reach? Just thought I'd note that opportunity attacks only work with adjacent enemies, unless it has the Threathening Reach ability (PH p290). :)[/sblock]
