How did I hit Ikni? I rolled a 13, her Fort is 14.
Since he said it was 12 damage, I assumed it was half damage from a miss.

Also, I looked up the Choker's ability to see if it had some sort of "you auto-hit your ally" clause, and it says: "when targeted by a melee or a ranged attack against Reflex or AC". Fearsome Ram Attack targets Fort.

Well, now! That's a horse of a different color entirely! I'm suddenly very curious about this myself. :)

Body Shield (immediate interrupt, when targeted by a melee or a ranged attack against Reflex or AC; recharges when the choker makes a successful tentacle claw or choke attack)
I do believe JNC is right: the choker couldn't redirect the attack. My actions are based on the assumption that Ikni currently is up to 23 hp (with Derien’s Healing Word).

Assuming the prone thing is a mistake, I'm 1 square away from being able to get adjacent to both the cloaked figure and the hag next turn. If Rhole could slide me 1 somehow, that would be awesome. (My plan is to take my Second Wind and mark as many monsters as I can get adjacent to.)
Sorry Joe, only when someone is missed or I heal them. Could have slid Derien during the hag’s turn, but there seemed to be no point (as evidenced by his move later on).

I figured out another way for you to get adjacent to both, though: Leaping. Despite the difficult terrain, you would qualify for a Running Start After spending 4 moves to get through the first 2 squares of swamp. With Ironheart’s Athletics mod of +9 he would then automatically succeed at jumping the last 2 squares – exactly enough to get you in the intended position.

Rhole staggers as the hag’s scream wash over him and vanish with another puff of stage smoke (the kind you’d use for cheap concert effects). There’s the sound of giddy footsteps and a raspberry being blown as Rhole leaves his cloaked aggressor stranded.

A burst of hard aggressive amplified tones erupts from just behind Derien, startling the elf enough to almost dive headfirst into the swampy lake. The heavy uncompromising music is directed with particular appeal to Haruka, though, who feels her confidence restored and vigor enough to hop back on the bridge.

Rhole reappears as the music rises in a crescendo that tears at the choker’s mind, but not enough for it to lose its focus.

“Let’s take the groove to the groves, crew! This swampy soup that our hostess favors swimming in, is cramping our style.”

[sblock=Actions]
Immediate Reaction: Fade Away to turn Rhole invisible until end of next turn (during hag’s turn).
Move: Run to E10 (Rhole doesn’t provoke OA from Cloak Guy due to invisibility).
Minor: Majestic Word on Haruka to heal a surge and slide to I12.
Standard: Cutting Words on choker. On a hit of Will 7 it deals 13 psychic damage and Rhole pulls it to H7. (Note that the choker can’t shield itself with Ikni against this attack either, since it targets Will).

Rhole – Gnome Bard 1
Passive Perception 15, Passive Insight 11
AC 17, Fort 11, Reflex 15, Will 16
Resist 5 fire
HP 18/24, Bloodied 12, Surge Value 6, Surges 7/8
Speed 5, Initiative +1
Action Points: 1, Second Wind
Powers: Cutting Words, Vicious Mockery;
Focused Sound, Majestic Word: 0/2, Words of Friendship; Fade Away, Ghost Sound;

Also, why can't I interrupt it on its turn? I guess it doesn't matter since my attack didn't actually invalidate its action.

Oh, and why am I prone?

1. you are correct. It would've "hit" her with the miss tag. My mistake on the attack roll, Forgot it was only Ref/AC, I just thought it was all melee attacks. I'll update the summary.

2. The interrupt comment was also an error because I was thinking about the choker's body shield ability to interrupt your Warden's Fury or Wrath. It also wouldn't have mattered because Warden's Wrath targets Fort not AC.

Prone is a copy/paste error from last turn.

Why am I making so many mistakes this turn? I actually went back and checked my sheet last night to see if that power did half damage on miss, and said, "Nope, just push 1." And today I see it does say half damage.

Also, even with Tonk's excellent example from my other thread, I completely forgot about leaping. I'll have to remember that for next time.

However, since the choker hasn't dropped Ikni yet, I think I'll have to try and defend the other defender.

EDIT: hey, I screwed up again! I've been forgetting all about Form of the Fearsome Ram, which gives me +2 to speed. And lets me push with an at-will.
[/sblock]

Ironheart bulls into the creature again, trying to stretch its disturbingly long arms past the breaking point and force it to let go of Ikni. As it staggers back he presses on relentlessly after it, ignoring the hideous cracks in his bark. "Get away well you can!" he yells to the swordmage.

[sblock=OOC]
Standard: bull rush: Bull Rush vs Choker (targets Fort; w/+2 Form of the Fearsome Ram, +2 CA from Warden's Fury) (1d20+5+2+2=27) YEAH! Push the choker to K6, shift to K7
Free: Mark it with Nature's Fury

Did Form of the Fearsome Ram wrong in the above, it's actually only +2 to charges, so that's only a 25. Oh, well. However, if "bull rush" counts as an at-will, I can push him an extra square, so push him to K5 and shift to K6

I don't want to be stuck over here when I could be marking a cluster of enemies, so next turn I'd like to move over to the hag and cloak (if they're still there). So if you can move somewhere it can't get at you so I can leave, that'd be nice.

EDIT: now I think of it, it'll just grab me instead of you. New plan: anyone with non-AC targetting attacks, concentrate fire on this thing. Let's get it out of the way!

Fixed that for you. In particular, I have no attacks that can safely hit a grabbing choker, though if elven accuracy survives my next turn I might chance it anyway.[/sblock]

[sblock=tactics]I figured I'd have Ikni head over and mark the hag, try to pin her down. With Ikni's thunder resistance, she's best suited to go toe-to-toe with it and keep it from chasing the rest of you, while the rest of you guys pound her from range. [/sblock]

[sblock=Tactics]So it sounds like our next target is the hag? What do we do about the cloaked thing? Right now it's well positioned to walk up and stab the face off of either me or Haruka. Maybe I can push it onto Ironheart with Cause Fear?

EDIT: Or maybe the cloaked thing is the next target, since's he wandering around loose. I just want to know who to drop my daily on.[/sblock]

I wouldn't use your daily on the cloaked thing - that's just spreading our damage around. The choker's bloodied now, we should get rid of it and then move on to something else. Or else I need to tie it up, since it's way too dangerous to let run around loose, while you guys pick one of the other two to focus on.

We're waiting for the bad guys to go, right? So they get to act now regardless. Next turn, if you can push something next to me I can mark it, so that would be good - separate the thing from the hag. But it's probably more cost-effective to just take the choker out.
