Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5

Logan Lightbringer

Logan will find some scrap of paper and a pencil or something to write a note for Garagos: "I do not have the proper incantation prepared today to grant you Pelor's grace for your hearing. But, tomorrow, I will do my best to help you."

Garagos

Garagos takes the paper and pencil. In his hard writing (the letters look a bit like dwaerven, even as he writes common) he gives an answer to this.

The message reads:

"Hrmp!"

Logan Lightbringer

OOC: Logan looks at Garagos apologetically and shrugs. Then he looks to the other group members expectantly, awaiting a response to his "Tale of the Wand-Wielding Mystery Woman." (see post 299)

Zorn sets a glass of wine down on the table before pulling up a chair to join his new companions.

Turing to Logan, he asks Mr. Lightbringer is it? You say you saw a woman floating above the swamp carrying a wand? That would exlpain the magic missiles I was hit with. Her presence is a mystery to me though. Why did these men attack us in the first place? I was not inside when it started so I don't know the cause. Clearly we were the targets for some reason. Obviously it is connected to Ambrose. I wonder if he had discovered something prior to his death?

Then he takes a sip of his wine and waits for the opinions of the others.

Giving Zorn his most winning smile, the Purposeful Priest of Pelor says, "Please, just 'Logan' is fine! And I don't think that I caught your name, did I, Mr. ........"

Zorn, amateur historian and former student of Ambrose. I also dabble a bit in matters of the arcane. he answers with a smile not quite as bright and blinding as Logan's perhaps.

"Pleased to meet you, Zorn. What can you tell me about Mr. Ambrose? Do you have any idea what is going on in this village that is causing all of this disturbance?"

Taking another sip of his wine, Zorn replies Well, as you may already know, Ambrose Wythwindle was an explorer, archeaologist, teacher, and much more. To me, he was a teacher and mentor. He found me when I was lost. He helped me discover myself. I received a letter not long ago explaining that he had passed away and that my name was mentioned in his will. I was instructed to come here for the reading. At the same time, I received another letter from Ambrose directly. He was excited about something that may be in the marshes. It is possible the two events may be connected based on the events of this evening. Or, it could be a huge coincidence. I'm not a big fan of coincidences.

What brings you here? A shining representative of Pelor and all.

Fin will drop his prisoner off with the others with a nod, before returning up to his room. He'll pick up Samman as well as the keg of ale he was working on, then return to the main room.

"Well, if that ain't a way t'be wakin' me up" Fin says to Garagos, hoping that the fellow dwarf will partake in some celebratory ale.

"Speaking of coincidences, here's the biggest one yet: Ambrose was also a friend of mine, and I received letters much like the two you received! I guess we are both heirs of our dear friend, Ambrose. I wonder what it was that Ambrose found in the swamp? Any ideas? Could we get inside his home now, do you think? I would certainly like to know more about this situation before the reading of his will tomorrow.
