Scott's Bluff (one-shot DnD 3.5)

You exit would-be Lord Georolds quarters and decend into the belly of Randy Boatswain just in time to spot Scavatch chatting it up with a bunch of mercs. He's got quite a crowd gathered around him.

After extracting himself, your group makes it's way around town on your way to the apartment. This side of Scott's Bluff appears to be quite affluent with stone statuary & street lamps. Threednle regales you with the sordid history of several of the more storied townsfolk who still reside in the area.
OOC: Is there anything you wanted to do first? I assumed not due to the lack of posting.

Arriving at the apartment, you climb up the steps (it's on the second story) and note that the door is already open. Upon entering, you hear voices talking.
"Where is it?"

"It'd help if yew knew what is is we're to be lookin' for."

"Hurry up guys, I have a bad feeling about this."

"Get over here and shine that light over the table so that I can see."

"I'm going to check the back room."

"Heh, bring me back some loot."

"But... but... We're not here to steal stuff! We're not cutpurses!"

"Correction: You're not, I am and him... well, it looks like he just doesn't care."
Meanwhile, outside and irritated, Hakko demands to know what's going on and why he's being forced to wait on the steps (Marcus could translate that, but it's pretty obvious what he's asking).
"Quiet! Get away from the windows, someone's out there."

"So... go and cut thier throats."

"WHA! What? You're supposed to be servant of the law."

"Heh, yeah, I am. Only you got it wrong... the law serves me."

Initiative:
Akko 15+8 (23)
Marcus 13+7 (20) ==> Ma
Guardsman (Herrys) 16+4 (20)
Hobgoblin (Kessel) 13+5 (18)
Haggo 15+3 (18)
Mardin 3+5 (8) ==> Mr
Scavatch 2+4 (6)
Guardsman (Linus) 4+2 (6)
Arvad 1+4 (5)
Threednle 3+0 (3)

Map: Those are 10 ft. squares on the map (meaning that 4 of you can fight comfortably from one square.
* The pink squares are books/reams of paper.
* The brown boxes are heavy chairs (leather & wood).
* The tables should be obvious.
* The big circular thing is a rug. The Pentagon is a bed with a nice comforter.

Arvad Half-Elven Rogue/Fighter

Arvad it caught unprepared and fumbles with his weapons trying to decide what to do.

OOC: Since he's so far down in the order I'll wait to declair an action.

I should note that, even though it's a battle map and initiative has been rolled, you can always attempt Diplomacy (I prefer that it's roleplayed and also accompanied by a skill). Some npcs/monsters are not willing to negotiate, but that doesn't mean you can't try. Just FYI.

Not that I'm encouraging you to do that here. I'm just letting you know that it is an option on ALL battles (vs. intelligent opponants, that is).

Speaking to the 2 former raiders in their native tongue "Go around the back and make sure no one escapes, we'll get you some proper weapons after this"

Drawing his Greatsword from it's sheath on his back Marcus surrounds himself in a nimbus of light (protective aura, free action 20' radius) and moves into the next room, looking at the 3 culprits "Surrender now, lest you feel the righteous might of the Arcane Shield"

OOC:Marcus activates his Protective Aura (Magic Shield Against Evil except +4 Deflection Bonus to AC & +4 to Saves against attacks or effects from evil creatures to anyone within 20') and moves to N8.

Marcus then readies an attack action against anyone who attacks him, Marcus will then attempt to Sunder the weapon of anyone who attacks him. :D

AC 22 (26 vs Evil creatures)
Sunder Attack Roll: +13 (+5 BAB, +4 Str +1 (MW) Adamantine* Greatsword +4 Large Weapon +4 Improved Sunder Feat -5 Power Attack)
Sunder Damage Roll: 2d6 +14 (+4 Str +10 Power Attack)
* Adamantine ignores 20 points of hardness.

Scavatch sprints forward around the corner, drawing his bow and nocking three arrows on the way.
"The next one of you that moves gets nailed to the floor!" he shouts, holding the bowstring to his ear.

OOC: Scav moves forward to N8, drawing his weapon on the run. Once there he readies an action to shoot the next enemy that takes any action other than surrendering.
Ranged attack +12/+7, +1 enhancement, -6 three arrow Manyshot = +7
Damage 1d6+3, +1 obsidian = 1d6+4 per arrow 20X3 critical

[sblock=Tinner]Scav will have a hard time moving to N8 with Marcus already there. ;)[/sblock]
Mardin readies his hammer and shield, running up to help out Marcus. "Yeah!"

ooc: Move to O9

Arvad Half-Elven Rogue/Fighter

Arvad finally sorts himself out prepares to attack only to see his fellows blocking access to the rest of the apartment and whatever foes are present. Mumbling in frustration he takes a position in the doorway to the outside where he can keep watch for anyone else who might arrive or perhaps try to exit from a window.

OOC: You can shoot through your allies. They don't consume the entire 5' square. AND, if they're willing you can squeeze as well (I belive it involves a penalty to your attack bonus, but it might be worth it).

ooc: Also, moving forward, I probably look like I want to keep moving forward (which'd make space for another--I'm not going to block the way for an ally.
