D&D (2024) So what's with 2024 and beyond?

My own personal guess is they will debut the PHB at GenCon '24 in August, then the MM and DMG probably in September for one and October for the other.
If UA 9 succeeds in fixing the Monk and Druid, most PH playtesting will be done by the end of the year. They will be well on their way to being ready for printing. I agree that they'll want the release to coincide with a Summer convention if possible.

I think the MM and DMG are already being written, and the playtest options for them are really only going to lead to editing some systems, rather than overhauls, so I don't think we'll see any serious delays (unless the world causes a delay).

Oh, I expect that all three are just about "feature complete" by now, but past the UA Alpha testing I reckon theybare going to privately beta test the living daylights out of every single word.

I know its a big ask but: When might we see the new rule books? They aren't going to wait until August/GenCon right?
How the playtest is going, I can see at december of 2024, PHB only, with DMG/MM lagging for a month or two.

Honesty, I would rather that they say that the playtest is not going as planned and push it back to 2025.

I‘m surprised there hasn‘t been any news of reprints of classic material. Personally, I’ve got a load of old stuff but I’d buy a white box reprint
It's all* in print now, anytime: Print on Demand wasn't really there before.

However, per @darjr recent conventionteport, they are hinting at some sort of retro usage of S3 and S4.

*well, a lot

I loved the reprints they did during the 3E/4E transition. I am amazed they're not releasing at a minimum the White Box and the AD&D core books in super-deluxe versions in 2024.
I mean, they still might, they have 13 months to go. We have no idea what they are or aren't doing just yet, beyond Vecna and the three core.

Since we have only the most wild guesswork as to when the revised PHB will debut, here's an alternative question. When do you think WotC will announce the release date? Will it be before the end of 2023, or will there be another D&D Direct announcement stream somewhere around March 2024?

I sort of.figured we would get a Direct/Live/Whatever they want to call it after the Deck dropped...might still be, but not in November, maybe.
