Here are a few basic rules to help people avoid reading spoilers that they don't want to see.

When you create a thread, you can put one of two tags in the title:

  • [Spoilers] - this means that spoilers are present in your initial post or that you welcome spoilers from others in your thread.
  • [NS] - this means that there are no spoilers in your initial post, and that you would prefer that others do not post spoilers in your thread.

If you have a thread open in which spoilers are later added, please edit your subject title to indicate that they are present.

Thanks guys - hopefully this will make thingsa little easier for everyone! :)

Really it comes down to common sense. If you absolutely don't want spoilers on a subject, don't read threads about it. It is stupid to complain about spoilers about a show/movie/book when you are reading posts about that subject. What do you think they are talking about???

I don't see it like that. For example, Buffy starts 3 months behind the US over here. Using your logic, I can never, ever read a BUffy thread - whch isn't very fair.

It should be possible for people to discuss old stuff without posting spoilers about the current/future events in a show. I'd say that once something becomes old - say, the original Star Wars films - details don't really constitute spoilers.

So, say I haven't seen Attack of the Clones, but want to discuss Return of the Jedi. I'd put [NS] in my thread title, which means I want to discuss the old film without people ruining the new one for me. Same for, say an early season of a TV show as opposed to the one currently showing or rumours about the next season.
