While Garindell does understand the concept of causing the acceleration of his own natural healing process, he does not have the talent to assist in the recovery of the effects of a hemotoxin, but the others do. The critical factor is the recovery of Gaio which will require almost a full day of near inactivity. He is made comfortable and at least one person stays with him at all times, usually Belaria.

The little that can be explored during the wait is enough to discover that all of the spiders that had adopted the dark corridors of this ancient pyramid as their breeding ground seem to have been eliminated, for which everyone is grateful. The second discovery not yet explored indicates that descending passages converge on a subterranean tunnel beneath the structure leading in a singular direction. That tunnel was manufactured and reinforced with clay bricks, many of which have fallen over the centuries and moisture has seeped inside allowing phosphorescent mold to grow and a rather musty odor to develop.

Garin will examine the walls where the bricks have fallen; he wants to ascertain whether or not there is any danger of a major collapse. He will also gather some (not all) of the glowing moss, hoping to use it as a focus, manipulating waylines to improve his lowlight vision.

Finally relieved of being poisoned and injured, Gaio stretches and runs his limbs through some range of motion to make sure that all is well. He thanks the party members for the assistance and offers some quick and appropriate affection to his heartmate. Though she is not so well suited to it, Belaria takes a lighted stone and throws it as far down the path as she is able. “Anything that can function down here, I cannot see us surprising, but I would rather that we are not again be surprised like we were with those spiders.”

To the best of his knowledge, Garindell decides that there is not much of a risk of the tunnel collapsing, despite the excessive wear that has caused the loss of many bricks. Gathering some of the phosphorescent moss, he realizes that it can be used to improve the manipulation of electromagnetic waylines for any purpose to which such are suited, but he has no idea, at this time, as to how his vision might be altered in order to see while underground, so he saves the measure for future use.

While the tunnel may no longer be exactly watertight, it is still sound enough and the substrate hard enough, that the thrown rock bounces a fairly good distance down the path, skipping over other fallen bricks. The path appears to be flat, and it continues well beyond the landing place of the stone. It was obviously used as some sort of egress, but any knowledge of the area has been lost in ancient history. The only recourse is to follow the path or abandon it for the light of day.
