Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

I don't think we know the Stardate for the episode. There can be a significant gap between episodes, with the suspension passing in the background.
It's not a matter of time. In a previous episode, Una reinstates her to the helm in spite of her suspension the moment they encounter a difficult flying situation, and that's the last we hear of it.
We aren't going to see development of the character if the character is suspended, sitting on her hands in her quarters.
On the contrary, the whole issue is that, prior to her Gorn PTSD, her one and only character trait has been "I fly the ship". It's become a joke in itself. The only way we're going to see development for her is by seeing what she is outside of that seat, and her suspension should have an opportunity to explore that.

Introduced four episodes ago and mentioned once in passing in three episodes in a ten episode season. They introduce something that could put the focus on Ortegas and it's not even given a passing mention during all the stressful events going on. M'Benga's murdering and daughter issues were closed at the end of the respective episodes, not presented as on-going plot lines.
Sure but you've got to think about how TV shows are written, especially when different writers are the primary writers. Like I said, if we don't see it mentioned again, I guess we do have to assume they just dropped it - and sometimes that is the right thing to do because maybe a character development doesn't really work or seem like the right direction when you start shooting. Honestly anything that puts more Ortegas on screen is better though so...

She has already gotten more character development than Sulu did in 3 seasons and 52 appearances, in hour long episodes.

Apparently the TARDIS has made an appearance on the show this season.

Kirk bemoaning his suggestion to send an away team down to the planet felt like a bit of a Space Whale Aesop. "Don't recklessly send down away teams without thoroughly checking the local conditions first" is a reasonable lesson to learn. "Don't send down away teams lest the planet they're standing on be blown apart by a massive beastly starship" is maybe erring too far toward caution.

Yeah that felt kind of funny, like maybe that was written before the earlier scene? Because in the earlier scene, he's pushing for an away team to go down, but he doesn't even really get to finish his speech before the planet blows up, so like, buddy, I don't think anyone saw that coming. I guess you could imagine that, even before that speech, he'd tried to convince the captain, but it wasn't exactly written like he was coming back to a point he'd pushed before.

Also it sure didn't stop Kirk sending a lot of ill-advised away teams later on!

That’s four in a row out of six episodes.
You can't count the episode it happened in.

It was shown she had PSTD at the very end of episode 2.

Episode 3 - agreed.

The suspension being briefly referred to in ep 4 is a concession to continuity, not about Ortegas.

She's not in action while suspended. In the past, with 20+ episode seasons, maybe they'd give us one that's really quiet, and not much happens, such that we could explore her at rest, so to speak. But with short seasons, each episode needs to be major stuff happening, which she's not supposed to be involved with while suspended.

Basically, what we'd want for her was what we used to call a "filler" episode. There's no room for them now. Sorry.
