Thinking about it, hard not to agree.

Both TOS and TNG did a really good job showing just how fully/well crewed the Enterprise is. SNW kind of gives the impression the ship is seriously understaffed.

Maybe the shows budget was cut. Given that this now the only active Trek show, maybe we're lucky we're getting anything at all.

I am now imagining Anson Mount as Medusa, from "The Inhumans", instead of as Black Bolt.

C'mon, this season's already in the can, and the next one is already in production. Our influence on the budget would, at best, fall in the final short season.

You can wallow in the dissatisfaction, if you like. I prefer to use it as inspiration for goofy Trek references to get through days with far bigger issues looming over us all.

1) There is no appreciable atmospheric drag in Earth geostationary orbit. Atmospheric density at that altitude is some 4x10^-19 kg per cubic meter. If I have done my math right, that means about 3 molecules of air per cubic centimeter. Solar wind will have a larger impact than the atmosphere at that altitude.

Your calculations are correct, and those 3 molecules are enough that all geostationary satellites will eventually fall.

2) There is no "low" or "high" geostationary orbit

No, they are all low. So “low geostationary orbit” is always correct (if redundant).

If you think I am “wallowing in dissatisfaction” (what a phrase!), you are sorely mistaken. This is my favourite show. That’s pretty much my only criticism of it. Even the things I love are allowed to be criticised.

This is my favourite show.

I have to say, trad SF fans absolutely doing pretty good this year I feel, for the combo of Strange New Worlds S3, Andor S2 and Alien: Earth, all of which are like, pretty much potential top 10 favourite shows material (for my money). Foundation as well for some people, I'm not following it (despite the hottest man in the world being in it), but my friends who were complaining about S1 a ton now quite like it. Murderbot as well, let's not forget Murderbot!

Very different to trad fantasy, just absolute death march there, cancelled WoT the very second it actually got genuinely good, Rings of Power S2 somehow way worse than S1, not House of the Dragon at all this year, etc. But who cares with how good SF is!

As far as truly little things that made me laugh.

When the mask comes off and there's the big reveal:

The baddie has an immaculately groomed moustache and goatee.

I must admit when I first saw the guy, I thought the reveal was going to be that they were Terrans from the Mirror Universe. That would’ve made as much sense as anything else!
